Senior Visual Merchandising Designer, Clinique - Asia Pacific Design Centre

  • Design and develop regional programs including concept, material research, final mechanicals, quality control, and implementation guidelines.

  • Act as gatekeeper for typography standards, all store formats and Colour/Treatment Deck planograms.

  • Facilitate communication with Clinique Affiliates in Asia Pacific to complete assigned tasks, including concept development and guidance.

  • Ensure Visual Merchandising guidelines are consistent with Clinique’s brand aesthetics and regionally relevant.


  • Develop and implement product launch collateral & VM support for assigned regional programs including counter testers, display props, design specifications and guidelines.

  • Maintain high creative and design standards to ensure Clinique remains a leading brand in the Asia Pacific markets.

  • Provide guidance and support via merchandising guidelines for all programs assigned and resolve market specific issues.

  • Assist in creative support for all regional conferences, press events, and workshops.

  • Create space planning for product launches, special events and windows for APAC.

  • Provide creative input to Store Design prior to any new design and development.

  • Establish good working relationship with both internal and external customers.

  • Follow-up on project status and tracking.

  • Plan and conduct APAC VMD Photoshare critique for the department.

  • Support the team in executing ad hoc VM projects.

  • Assist Visual Merchandising Manager on preparation of APAC region’s annual budget and oversee the expenses for cost effectiveness.

  • Work closely with Junior Designers and guide them on preparation and execution of VMD guidelines.

Production & quality control

  • Liaise with suppliers to provide creative and technical support for all regional production.

  • Develop and strengthen vendor’s ability to meet Clinique’s standards and expectations.

  • Ensure quality control for all out-going shipment of collaterals.



  • Diploma/Degree in Industrial Design, Visual Merchandising, or Graphic Design.

  • 3-5 years experience in a design environment with 2 and 3-Dimensional design experience.

  • Possess leadership qualities and the ability to communicate within a team and with regional markets and suppliers.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

  • Software: Freehand or Illustrator, PhotoShop, In Design, Microsoft Office and Render Works, SketchUp or equivalent modeling software.

  • Comfortable communicating in written and spoken English.

  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.

  • Has an eye for detail and strong in Typography.
