Active development of makeup artistry skills, product knowledge and customer service abilities of the Counter Managers & retail MUA via in store coaching. Support Education Executive in delivery of core Bobbi Brown Educational Initiatives to retail employees (MUA) to support the business needs, maximize MUA productivity and achieve brand financial targets, with focus on top doors.


After 6 months in role

o Drive sales through education, focusing on strengthening the product knowledge, artistry and selling skills of the retail Counter Managers and MUA.

o Exemplify and uphold Bobbi’s brand philosophy, standards and image

o Day to day assessment of MUA talent and learning progression.

o Communicate and collaborate effectively with AE’s/EEs and AC’s to improve MUA artistry skills and productivity, address performance issues and identify talent for elevated developmental career opportunities.


o 50% of time in stores supporting retail MUA training needs to elevate artistry, service and product knowledge.

o 20% of time dedicated to team teaching with EE during Basic School & Seasonal Seminars and improvement of personal classroom facilitation skills and artistry techniques.

o 10% of time dedicated to recruitment and screening talent.

o 10% of time participating in Bobbi Brown developmental trainings and meetings

o 10% of time for administrative tasks, conference calls and event logistics.

Counter Manager & MUA Development in Stores:

o Assist AE/AC in recruiting, hiring and retaining top talent BM/MUA to meet Bobbi Brown brand artistry and service standards. Includes interviewing and conducting new hire orientations.

o Quality store visits including review of performance to plan, MUA productivity, counter merchandising and MUA image combined with minimum 4 hours shoulder to shoulder selling time.

o Observe Counter Managers and MUA in action, then provide clear, constructive feedback on artistry skills, product knowledge, customer service and usage of sales building tools and face charts. Share information with AE/ AC.

o Customize one on one learning sessions with MUA in Top Doors to maximize productivity and close gaps in artistry/ service skills.

o Provide positive recognition and identify talent for succession planning.

Counter Manager & MUA Development in Stores: cont…

o Conduct trainings as needed, including Intersell trainings, counter coaching, in-store workshops, specialized retailer programs

o Cultivate full understanding of each retailer’s Clientele system and coaching Makeup Artists on proper Clientele procedures to increase client base and build relationships with customers.

Education/Training Seminars:

o Partner with EE in facilitation of Seasonal & Basic Training Seminars by teaching specific portion, following best practices to ensure high transfer of knowledge and engagement of learners.

o Receive feedback from EE on presentation skills and implement changes accordingly.

o Share specific territory needs and competitive insights gained from in store training time with EE so that EE can best tailor seminar formats to learner needs.

o Assist EE in set up or tear down of all training collateral.



Position requires:

o 2 years relevant work experience, including 1 years experience as a Bobbi Brown Artist or Business Manager.

o Bobbi Brown Basic Artistry Certification

o Proven track record of achieving retail sales plans, of planning and executing events and building relationships.

o Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.


o The position requires moderate physical effort.

o Training equipment bags, (weighing 40lbs when loaded) must be lifted and transferred to and from vehicles and training venues.

o During training, packing and unpacking of materials is required. There may also be moving and setting up of chairs, tables and furniture needed.

o Travel by air and car is required, possibly for extended periods of time.

o At counters, one may stand nearly 8 hours.

Working Conditions

o Work Locations could include but are not exclusive to: Retail Partnered Store (Department Store/retail selling floor), training rooms, film, TV, photography studio, hotel, restaurant or conference room, makeup room environment, back stage fashion shows, home parties at client’s home.
