Drive and exceed retail sales goals in assigned doors by actively participating in strategic planning, identification of growth opportunities and excellent execution of brand and retailer specific events. Recruit and develop Counter Managers and MUA to ensure productivity/ SPH targets are achieved. Enforce Bobbi Brown brand standards and policies related to merchandising, hygiene, image and testers/ damages.
After 6 months in role
o Achieve retail sales plan with growth ahead of total cosmetic department trend and gain rank/ share.
o Develop artistry, selling and clientele skills of Counter Managers & MUA through hands on demonstration, consistent review of individual job performance (eg. SPH, artistry skills, retailer clientele metrics) and follow up.
o Manage and develop relationships with retail Counter Managers & MUAs as well as Retail Partner Management Teams through high touch store visits and constant communication via email and phone.
o Actively recruit, manage and retain Top Talent for territory positions including Counter Managers, MUA and Freelance Artists.
SCOPE OF WORK:
o 70% of time in store driving retail sales, coaching to performance and building relationships.
o 10% of time dedicated to recruitment and screening talent.
o 10% of time participating in Bobbi Brown developmental trainings and meetings
o 10% of time for administrative tasks, conference calls and event logistics.
Sales Planning and Execution:
o Implementation of seasonal strategy and programming established in partnership with AE and retailer partners to ensure achievement of retail sales and market share gain.
o Plan and manage special events, from establishment/ communication of sales goals & appointment goals, to in-store training session, monitoring of appointments, securing of artists and finalizing visual set up. Track total event sales and by MUA/ FLA, recap along with key learnings to AE and Operations Coordinator.
o Quality store visits including review of performance to plan, schedules, counter merchandising and MUA image combined with minimum 4 hours shoulder to shoulder selling time.
o Ensure swift and proper communication of stock concerns, newness allocation and counter supply needs in proactive manner.
o Build strong in store relationships to favorably position Bobbi Brown as vendor of choice.
Manage and Develop Counter Managers and Retail Makeup Artists
o Continuous feedback and coaching on counter sales performance to plan and individual SPH, artistry skills, brand standards and retailer scorecards.
o Serve as Coach for Intro to Bobbi orientation program, including working one-on-one with each new hire within their first week on the job.
o Conduct trainings as needed, including Intersell trainings, counter coaching, in-store workshops, specialized retailer programs
o Cultivate full understanding of each retailer’s Clientele system and coach Makeup Artists on proper Clientele procedures to increase client base and build relationships with customers.
Recruitment and Retention
o Ongoing SWOT analysis of existing teams to identify bench strength as well as specific talent gaps to recruit for.
o Recognize top performers, collaborate with AE/ EE on additional developmental opportunities for top talent and participate in Counter Manager/ MUA succession planning.
o Recruit new potential candidates and pre-screen for future positions at counters and/or as part of freelance artistry team.
o 2 years relevant work experience, including 1 years experience as a Bobbi Brown Artist or Business Manager.
o Proven track record of achieving retail sales plans, of planning and executing events and building relationships.
o Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
o The position requires moderate physical effort.
o Training equipment bags, (weighing 40lbs when loaded) must be lifted and transferred to and from vehicles and training venues.
o During training, packing and unpacking of materials is required. There may also be moving and setting up of chairs, tables and furniture needed.
o Travel by air and car is required, possibly for extended periods of time.
o At counters, one may stand nearly 8 hours.
o Work Locations could include but are not exclusive to: Retail Partnered Store (Department Store/retail selling floor), training rooms, film, TV, photography studio, hotel, restaurant or conference room, makeup room environment, back stage fashion shows, home parties at client’s home.
