The position is a fast paced high-energy role that works under the leadership of the Delivery Lead and partners with business leaders to develop new, impactful and beautiful digital solutions including web. The role will be business customer facing and observe day-to-day leaders in action. They then develop back-end server side and front-end user interface solutions that eventually integrate into all ELC mobile devices including smart phones, tablet and Web applications. The position requires a creative as well as technical background and should have passion for solving problems with digital solutions. They will work in teams and thus collaboration and partnering skills are important. This is position has more experience than the Design/Developer I position typically will take on complex and advanced type projects and will work more independently often leading teams and a higher engagement with our strategic partners.

Job Duties:

  • Working under the leadership of the delivery lead, the Apps Designer/Developer II will work with brand, region and functional business leaders to identify business issues that can be solved with digital solutions

  • Building software solutions that are intuitive, useful and impactful

  • Partnering with strategic partners on larger more complex development projects, often leading their work

  • Leading Teams of Designers & Developers

  • Capturing functional and non-functional requirements through various techniques (brainstorming, interviews etc.)

  • Defining and documenting business and functional requirements related to end-user experience

  • Creating user-centered designs based on business and functional requirements, user research, market analysis, customer feedback, and usability findings

  • Developing conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, usage scenarios, navigation maps, and prototypes

  • Participating in user research and usability testing to help improve the user experience

  • Developing and designs mobile cross-platform Rich Media Applications using multiple software development kits such as HTML5, Adobe (Flex SDK, Flash SDK, Builder), Google (Android), and Apple (iPhone SDK)

  • Developing mobile applications on smart phones using programming knowledge from multiple operating systems

  • Applying Agile development concepts and incorporates end-user feedback into design and prototypes

  • Designing and developing the front-end UI for mobile applications using Rich Media Application knowledge

  • Developing the back-end server side scripting needed to interface with the front-end UI

  • Capturing software defects using bug tracking systems currently in place

  • Ensuring that business rules comply with internal and industry software standards


  • College degree in CS, BA, Math etc

  • A minimum of 4 years related experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication and mentoring skills

  • Ability to learn new information quickly

  • Culturally aware and excellent Emotional Intelligence

  • Curious & Hard working

  • Some experience in designing applications for multiple mobile devices (e.g. Apple iPhone, iPad, Android, etc.)

  • Creative mindset and experience

  • Experience in the specific APIs and user interface toolkits of major mobile platforms is a plus

  • Proficiency in some software development languages (e.g. Flex, C, C , JavaScript, .NET, Python, Go, Parasail, etc.)

  • Strong math, programming and problem-solving skills is a must

  • License/Certification required: ITIL; Agile: e.g. CSP, CSM; PMP Preferred

  • 0 – 10% travel time may be required
