Travel Retail EMEA Estee Lauder - Visual Merchandising Executive



Our Travel Retailing Affiliate wishes to recruit a Visual Merchandising Executive to support the Store Design and Visual Merchandising team. This role covers Estee Lauder brand for Travel Retail Europe, Middle East and Africa. It is based at the London offices, reporting to the Corporate Visual Merchandising Manager.


The role includes the following responsibilities:

Promotions: Design and manage the installation of promotional sites across Travel Retail Europe, Middle East and Africa, and ensure that they are built within budget and to the brand’s design and quality standards.

Merchandising guidelines: Produce accurate planograms, based on the brand’s latest guidelines, and ensure that they are sent to the field teams within the required time frame.

Communication bands: Ensure the pro-active, timely and efficient production, translation and distribution of communication bands.

Transparencies / visuals: Ensure the timely and efficient ordering, cropping authorisation and distribution of transparencies as part of rollouts or specific print orders within the required frame and according to the exact brand’s specific guidelines. Ensure that the lightbox database is always updated.

Communication: Communicate and coordinate with all relevant internal teams (Store Design, Marketing, Finance and Field teams), ensuring the timely visibility of project information and budget.

In-Store merchandising: Support the Visual Merchandising/Store Design team and the field teams with in-store merchandising of new installations, top doors and VIP visits. Ensure the stores are updated with the latest Visual Merchandising direction and guidelines. Maintain consistently high visual standards throughout all Travel Retail environments.

Merchandising workshops: Participate and present in merchandising workshops and training sessions when necessary.

Suppliers liaison: Manage tenders, collateral quotes, and provide suppliers with all the relevant project information, technical details, materials and brand guidelines. Ensure excellent follow-up on projects before and after installation is complete.

Monitoring of budget: Raising project-specific purchase orders and approve invoices to ensure projects can be completed within time and budget.

Open Sell / Access hardware systems: Support the store Design and Project Manager, to ensure the timely and pro-active ordering of open sell hardware.

Merchandising workshops: Participate in merchandising workshops and training sessions when necessary.


The Visual Merchandising Executive works closely with the brand in New York, the Visual Merchandising team, the Marketing team. She/he will understand the technicalities of Visual Merchandising, be creative with excellent communication and negotiation skills.

She/he will be a dynamic and confident Designer and Project Manager with experience of monitoring budgets and meeting timelines. Attention to detail and good follow-through are essential.

Candidates should possess a good knowledge of design programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop and ideally 3D design programs. She/he should have excellent interpersonal and organisation skills, and enjoy a flexible, team environment working to deadlines.

She/he will also have the ability to use initiative and be proactive and willing to adapt and take on new challenges.
