Performs a wide variety of operational tasks within focused work centers or production line which includes: setting up and operating process and plant support equipment, trouble shooting, equipment cleaning and maintenance. Supports other areas of the business as required/assigned.


Equipment Set-Up & Operability

  • Performs set-ups and changeovers for process equipment within focused work centers or line including disassembly, cleaning and sanitation of equipment as required

  • Sets the line according to the fill specifications and works with IE/ME Group to update the fill specifications as required

  • Supports all line Validation and OTC requirements ongoing as per QA direction

  • Operates and maintains process equipment during production runs, initiates trouble shooting/corrective action investigation and quality checks as required and at times performs basic operator responsibilities

  • Ensures equipment is effectively cleaned and maintained at all times

  • Performs other duties as assigned and required

Machinery/ Repair/Equipment Maintenance

  • Support the troubleshooting and repair of inoperable equipment including PLC/ HMI errors, sensor faults, and other accessory equipment (when possible)

  • Provide recommendations for solutions to maintenance services

  • Actively participate in relevant preventative maintenance activities including work order completion. Provide input into preventative maintenance revisions

Continuous Improvement

  • Actively participate and support corporate LEAN Manufacturing initiatives, including breakdown/root cause analysis.

  • Review new equipment purchase specifications; provide feedback on equipment design and operability; support capital project installations (FATs, etc…) where applicable

  • Be an active member of the PIT Crew and help to develop and implement standard work procedures

Health and Safety

  • Proactively identify, report and resolve safety concerns

  • Observe and conform to all corporate EH&S guidelines and procedures

  • Adhere to all established safety programs, i.e. Lock-out Tag-out, Electrical Safety, etc.

  • Actively participate in applicable Risk Assessment’s, Pre-start Health and Safety Review’s (PSR’s) and hazard assessments as required.

  • Actively participate in Near Miss and BBS Observation activities.


  • Maintain clean work environment on the production floor and within the maintenance shop.

  • Conform to all ergonomic assessment requirements

  • Actively participate and support the Canadian Operations 5S Program



  • Minimum high school education. Post-secondary education and/or trade school training an asset


  • Minimum 1 - 3 years’ experience in a maintenance or a related field

Functional Competencies:

  • Good understanding of basic mechanical principles

  • Ability to apply mechanical knowledge to process equipment to obtain efficient performance

  • English language proficiency; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to resolve issues in a tactful and diplomatic manner, communicate expectations and outline maintenance requirements
