Use of Material Science expertise to

study, evaluate, test, and confirm feasibility for use in package-product


Develop Technical models and

implement predictive analytical test methods in upfront development.

Provide technical expertise to

various depts. within the organization including Pkg Dev, R&D, MFG, &


Coach analysts on team to perform

predictive analytical testing and final package testing.

In partnership with manager, develop,

issue and maintain standardized package test procedures for package/product


Analyze need for new test equipment

and develop programs to acquire same, as appropriate.


partnership with Pkg Dev, QA, Suppli ers ,

R&D, participate in problem solving efforts on failed test results or analysis

of consumer complaints, as appropriate.

Develop Technical models defining

physical and chemical mechanisms in package-product performance

Implement predictive failure

analyses/protocols by enhancing lab testing and characterization capabilities


Support Pkg. Testing analysts in elevating

their technical expertise in materials and developing analytical capabilities

Ensure laboratory practices and package

testing procedures are consistently administered globally

Determine root cause and

corrective action by implementing technical expertise along with conceptual and

innovative thinking in problem solving packaging problems.

Support department strategy by

ensuring Lab activities are aligned with team and corporate strategy that is

set by management

Provide technical expertise as

member of cross functional team working on DFMEA’S for new product launches.

Ensure timely package testing meets

project timetables

With manager, propose development plans for package testing analysts


  • Master’s Degree required –Mechanical Engineering or Material/Polymer Science or equivalent

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience

  • Applied mathematics; PhD preferred

  • Exceptional foundation in Applied Mathematics in developing Technical models

  • Experience in developing predictive analytical test methods

  • Demonstrated expertise and hands –on experience in plastics materials characterization

  • Ability to use advanced analytical techniques for material structure and property determination

  • Demonstrated expertise in obtaining and interpreting composition-structure-property relationships
