Position Title : Assistant Manager- Project Development

Development – Corporate Store Planning & Development

Principle Objective:


individual will be responsible for the design development and project

management for corporate retail stores and branded cosmetic counters throughout

North America. This responsibility includes the proper execution and

implementation of project management procedures in partnership with our retail

partners including the implementation of policy and procedures. Position will work

with the Director on the oversight of all related costs to ensure the projects meet

approved capital requirements, retailer agreements and proper communication of

all project related issues including schedules, business partner collaboration

and contractual requirements.

Principle Responsibilities:


is responsible for comprehensive oversight of design development and project

management daily activities as it relates to the following key areas:

Daily Project Management

Ensuring that all projects are addressed and responded to in a timely

manner and that all necessary communications with retail partners are handled

in a proactive and professional manner.

Ensuring that clear and accurate reporting of active, pending and

completed projects is maintained and understood with in the team and that all

brands are kept abreast of their related projects on an ongoing basis.

Design Development Phase

Support of key brand’s design development including but not limited to

design layout, detail development, material selection and concept coordination.

Coordinate with Brands to ensure that approved designs are submitted to

the Architect/Manufacturer for the preparation of construction documents on a

timely basis.

Ensuring that design and construction documents meet all corporate

requirements, and where possible, share best practices across brands.

Preparing preliminary cost estimates and construction schedules.

Assuring the engineered integrity of products manufactured.

Bid Documents and Process

Ensure and oversee the accurate production of bid/construction sets and

that the documents are completed in a timely manner.

Support Director in maintaining project bid schedule.

Ensure all information necessary to prepare and distribute the Project

Documents has been assimilated and that the documents are distributed

accurately and on time.

Support Director with the evaluation and qualification of all bids and

proposals through the consulting architect and or project team.

Provide direction for the Estee Lauder Companies supplied items through

ELC Indirect Procurement and coordinate the delivery to job site.

Ensure that Estee Lauder Companies are receiving quality, service and

fair pricing.

Construction Administration

Ensure that the construction of each project maintains Estee Lauder

Companies best interests and best management of its assets.

Partner with ELC Indirect Procurement to evaluate vendor quality,

service and economies of scale. Contract alternative methods via package

discounts and value engineering.

Support Director with leading contract negotiations and insure that

services, contractors, suppliers and vendors afford Estee Lauder Companies the

best value, quality and economy.

Provide updates to all ELC business partners on all revisions to

project specifications.

Awarding and processing contracts.

Ensure that they are timely, correct and executed.

Coordinate all necessary approvals, permits and documents to insure a

professional and smooth running project.

Construction Closeout

Ensure a complete, clean and smooth turnover to store personnel and


Managing the consolidation of punch lists from Project Manager, store

personnel and others.

Ensuring that the punch list has been completed and signed off by store

personnel, brand and landlord within 60 days of project completion.

Ensuring that all final closeout documents are complete and correct on

a timely basis.

Collaborate with team onPlanning and Development efforts for the following areas:

Value-engineering alternatives as required and across brands where


Reviewing, approving and implementing specification revisions.

Coordinating functional design revisions as required for maintaining

best practices.



  • 3 Years in Architectural or Interior Design with concentration inRetail Industry

  • Strong knowledge of store planning and construction methods.

  • Proactive, organized and detail oriented.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, handle multiple tasks and variedpersonalities.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

  • Superior customer service oriented abilities to meet the needs ofvarious in-house and external business partners.

  • Travel of up to 10% required

  • BS in Architecture or related field
