Assistant Manager, Retail Store Operations, MAC Cosmetics
The Assistant Manager of Retail Store Operations assists the Manager of Retail Store Operations in overseeing the operations of 170 MAC Freestanding Retail Stores in U.S & Canada.
Leads and facilitates new store openings, renovations, and closings.
Oversee facilities maintenance.
Administer and enforce operating policies and procedures. Perform audits for compliance.
Provide (24 hours, 365 day) afterhours operational support for MAC Retail Store population.
Support store systems.
Manage the process for the turnover of new stores/renovations
Facilitate the turnover preparation process with Sales Operations, MAC Store Design, Field Management and appropriate corporate departments.
Coordinate with RSD and other EL corporate departments to promote timely store openings with minimal operations disruptions.
Review punche list items and the acceptance of the space per Brand guidelines, ensuring MAC standards.
Coordinate with Mall Management or Landlords to review mall/building procedures.
Manage the delivery schedule for opening order of goods in accordance with mall or site specifications.
Train field management and retail store staff on mechanics of the retail store environment.
Perform site review of P.O.S. system, Warranty Repair & Maintenance procedures, H.V.A.C. unit, lighting, and Loss Prevention processes and opportunities.
Must be physically able to assist with the movement of stock and fixtures on premises.
Fifty percent travel responsibility necessary to facilitate
Manage process for closures of existing stores.
Collaborate with Sales Administration and Store Construction on the reallocation of store fixtures.
Work with Inventory Planning to re-distribute sales merchandise accordingly.
Coordinate with RSD Real Estate, RSD Construction, and Retail I.S. on final vacating of the space.
Support Pro Trade Shows and Industry Events
Liaise with Artist Relations, Retail Events, Planners, and IT Retail support team to facilitate logistics for Pro Trade Shows and Industry Events
Oversee Facilities Maintenance.
Oversee & facilitate store repair process.
Coordinate timely repairs in the interest of health & safety, and to maintain store aesthetics
Implement & monitor store programs to address ongoing maintenance challenges, highlight health & safety concerns
Initiate & Monitor repair vendors for efficiency, timely response, & cost effectiveness.
Manage repair and maintenance expenses to ensure adherence to budget
Ensure corporate policy and procedures, as outlined in the BOOK, are applied consistently throughout MAC retail locations.
Liaise with Estee Lauder corporate departments such as Loss Prevention, Treasury, RSD, Retail Support Systems, and Retail Accounting to administer policies & procedures and perform audits to ensure compliance.
Review Incident Reports from the field and provide prompt direction
Active monitor compliance to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) by auditing JDA assignment status, active keys & safe log, manual sales procedure, customer capture script, back office visitor’s log, etc.
Enforce inventory control procedures – i.e. receiving, shipment discrepancies, inventory adjustments, testers and damages, etc.
Provide Afterhours Support (24 hours, 365 days)
Primary, point of contact – along with other Assistant Managers – to ensure afterhours/weekend emergencies are addressed in a timely fashion and minimize disruption to business.
Contact (24 hours, 365 day) emergency operational support for MAC store population:
Provide direction on situational basis, repair/damage, theft, Natural disaster, security and life safety concerns after business hours, weekends & holidays.
Support Point-of-Sale (POS) and Retail Operating Systems (ROS)
Direct POS hardware challenges with Retail Support ensuring speedy resolution and minimal operational disruption to the POS during all business hours in order to sustain business.
Review and address transaction issues to achieve optimal customer service as well as proper banking and loss prevention practices to adhere to SOX compliance.
Help to coordinate communications with the Retail Store Help Desk relative to JDA support, new project set-up, etc.
Must have minimum 3 years Free standing Retail Store Experience, one-year MAC store management experience a plus
Must be able to accommodate routine travel schedule (60% of job) inclusive of 4 days on-site for new store construction & renovation & organize 10 hour days at turnover/renovation/overnight relocations.
Must be able to assist and perform tasks requiring moderate physical labor, this includes the movement of stock and fixtures on premises and extended hours on feet.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, multi-task, embrace change, be flexible, & supervise situations following the company’s philosophy.
Must be available 24 hours, 365 day.
Required Driving License and capability to operate vehicle.
Excellent communication skills, and follow through, with a sense of urgency.
Working experience in Retail Operating Systems.
