Associate, Global Marketing Makeup-Clinique
Work closely with Director to develop and implement successful programs within the Face category of Clinique’s Makeup business on time, while keeping with the overall category and brand strategy objectives. Assist in managing all aspects of program development from concept to final program delivery. Consistently monitor the performance of new launches and existing business and provide actionable recommendations to improve the Face categories. Possess the ability to be flexible and a team player while developing strong working relationships with global partners and internal support groups.
Along with Director, support strategic vision of the business by gathering data, analyzing for patterns and trends, and making recommendations.
Assist in program conceptualization by developing actionable ideas and product recommendations through comprehensive competitive analysis and input/feedback from markets.
Initiate program development by issuing all necessary paperwork and clearly communicating project details and objectives to all support groups.
Act as point person for cross-functional teams in terms of anticipating, identifying and seeking resolution of developmental and operational issues for all programs.
Act as key point person for category performance (shipments, sell-through, cost of goods, sku count, pricing and new product forecasts) as well as competitively with regard to products, marketing focus and relevancy to the Clinique business.
Act as liaison for global partners to ensure brand strategies and objectives are met in the context of product offerings and local relevancy.
Provide global partners with timely information regarding all programs, including product lineups, positioning, support and pricing strategies. Liaise regularly with regional marketing teams to ensure programs meet market needs. Execute special market requests as needed.
Make recommendations for cost-saving initiatives and value opportunities.
Work with Global Business Planning partners to prepare volume opportunity benchmarks in order to make global forecast recommendations. Leverage internal and competitive benchmarks to develop volume accurate recommendation.
Prepare detailed pricing analysis and provide recommendations that are in line with Global Pricing Strategy.
Assist Director in preparation of materials/analysis for presentation of marketing plans (i.e. Brand Strategy, Monthly Business Reviews, Sales Meetings, and Regional Meetings)
Manage support program development to ensure programs are on time, within budget and meet strategic objectives.
Lead by example to create an environment that is encouraging, respectful, and builds team cooperation.
KEY ELEMENTS FOR SUCCESS
2 years related business experience, marketing or consulting background preferred.
Should demonstrate a passion for the cosmetic business and in particular, understand Clinique’s philosophy and unique point of difference.
Must be accountable and organized with the ability to handle a multitude of projects.
Must have strong analytical skills and acute attention to detail.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication, analytical, creative and computer skills.
Position requires creativity and thorough knowledge in all areas of marketing including the ability to develop and implement innovative marketing programs, knowledge of global market/consumer trends.
Must demonstrate ownership of programs, embracing both big picture objectives and follow-through on details.
Must be flexible, determined and an excellent team player.
Must possess the ability to build, foster and nurture strong relationships and gain the respect of members of the cross-functional and affiliate teams.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred.
