Position Summary:

Act as liaison between admissions, prospective student, student parent(s) and Financial Aid Services, Inc. (FAS)

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Counsel and assist students in completing the Free Application Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

  • Assist students and parents with the financial aid process in a friendly and outgoing manner to make the parent and/or prospective student feel comfortable with the admissions/financial aid processes. Nurture parent and/or prospective student through the FA process to ensure everyone feels confident a FA plan is available

  • Communicate closely with admissions department regarding enrollment. Act as a vital link between admissions procedure and financial solutions to close/secure the prospective students status of enrollment

  • Maintain continuous contact with all prospective students for finalization of FA process/enrollment, creating a strong sense of urgency

  • Ensure completion of initial student financial aid is received a timely manner. Determine eligibility and council student and/or parent on appropriate aid and alternative possibilities, including private lenders

  • Create, maintain and verify all financial aid files are in order and in compliance with federal and state regulations

  • Facilitate entrance and exit counseling

  • Transmit FAFSA application data electronically to the Department of Education

  • Electronically receive Institutional Student Information Report (ISIR) via FASline

  • Confirm student’s prior financial aid via NSLDS (update and monitor transfer monitoring list if applicable)

  • Complete estimated award letter in FASline, print and obtain student signature

  • Submit disbursement request for Pell and loan to FAAS via FASline if processing PELL/FSEOG/FFEL/DL or FWS through FAS. Submit additional verification, professional judgment and/or C code documents to FAAS for resolution if applicable

  • Submit Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) to the Department of Education electronically

  • Submit National Student Loan Data (NSLD) Student Status Confirmation Report (SSCR) via FASline per department of Education mandatory schedule.

  • State and Indian grant processing and awarding

  • Perform other duties as assigned



Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.


  • 2-4 years relatable experience


  • Excellent communication, customer service, math, organizational and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential issues.
