Manager, Makeup/Fragrance, Clinique
DEPARTMENT: Travel Retail Worldwide
REPORTS TO: Executive Director, Clinique
is responsible for driving the Makeup and Fragrance categories, through ongoing
analysis of business, competition and market trends. Work closely with
executive director to develop and implement strategic initiatives that align
with the global and regional brand direction. Lead 360°
development including newness, basic business, in store execution, eventing,
and non-saleable support to maximize sales and grow market share. Effectively partner with global brand
marketing, regional sales teams, and all related support groups to ensure
alignment before execution.
Work closely withExecutive Director to develop a 360° strategy to achieve market share growthwithin Makeup and Fragrance categories.
Responsible fordriving basic business and newness while ensuring relevance in travelcorridors.
Conduct ongoingmarket and competitive analysis that result in key commercial insights andinitiatives.
Identifycommercial, new product, and consumer opportunities to drive growth withinMakeup and Fragrance categories
New Product Development
Responsible forleading all aspects of new product launch activity including but notlimited to forecasts, creative, merchandising, promotional and saleableelements in cooperation with the relevant support teams.
Prepare allpaperwork including Global Work Requests (GWR), Project Start Forms (PSF)and COG studies for Travel Retailing exclusive programs. Writes Marketing bulletins, andmaintains International Marketing Website (IMW) bulletins.
Work closely withglobal business planning team and distribution center to ensure newprograms are forecasted, received and shipping to plan (Saleable, TREX,non-saleable).
Responsible for the tracking of shipments ofall new and limited life products from plant to Lachen (distributioncenter) using the seasonal recap and allocation documents (includes:saleable and non-saleable items).
Initiate shadeselection for new TR adapted, exclusive programs, based upon launchstrategy, shade rankings, regional feedback, and Product Developmentrecommendations.
Responsible for the tracking of all TRprogramming with the Marketing, NLM and Creative teams to ensure programsare on track for targeted project finish dates. Leading bi-weekly meetingsacross these teams.
Creates allCreative requests and tracks them, working closely with brand, to helpsupport regional requests, including in-flight visuals/copy, specialevents, etc.
Track all seasonalmerchandising documents and planograms, with Visual Merchandising.Managing communication of VM elements needed from VM per season.
Adapt and develop Special Event Activities,including collateral tools, which can be implemented in all regions
Responsible for the preparation of marketingpresentations for sales meetings and retailer presentations including thecoordination of all Marketing-related support materials (e.g., product,comps, lab samples, visual concepts, etc.).
Responsible for thedevelopment of all sales tools including seasonal marketing calendars andseasonal sell books
Management / Business Analysis
Maintain TRmarketing calendar, prepares competitive analysis, liaising with globalmarketing, marketing services and creative teams to ensure seasonalobjectives are met. Also, updatesseasonal and on-going product assortments.
Create, update, andissue Seasonal Calendars and Strategy sheets to all regions for Makeup andFragrance categories
Maintain and issueseasonal assortments, making recommendations for product statuschanges. Responsible for managingsku count and Magic Quadrant analysis
Prepare performance recap of each new launchactivity including promotional programming.
Manages global in-flight business, work withDemand Planning to approve forecasts, and manage all creative needs for listings.
Manage day to day requests from regional andglobal teams. Acting as a key point person for TR WW. Communicate with each regional office(Miami, London & Singapore) on a daily basis to ensure their needs(creative, visual merchandising, programming, etc.) are met.
Prepare and analyze various sales andshipment reports as needed. (Including, seasonal shade rankings).Providing summary reports to senior management and regional teams.
Works on a varietyof special projects as necessary.
College degree preferred.
Minimum 5-7 years experience
Position requires a flexible, independent,well-organized individual with superior written and verbal communicationskills.
Candidate must be a detail-oriented, self-starterand a team player.
Candidate should also demonstrate the ability tohandle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Candidate should have experience in trend-basedmarketing. Makeup or Fragrance experience a plus.
Strong computer skills required, especially inExcel (pivot tables, v-look up), Word and PowerPoint. Microsoft Access a plus.
