Estee Lauder Corporation is seeking an ambitious and highly analytical financial leader to join the Global Online Finance team. This role reports to Director/Executive Director of Global Online Finance. Manager will lead capital planning and analysis for all global Online projects as well as manage all financial processes (month close, forecasting, budgeting and long range planning) for production and technology operating expenses.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Sample job responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Serve as primary finance partner for VP of Online Production and VP of Online Technology

  • Manage financial processes related to Online Capital, including budgeting, monthly forecasting and ongoing tracking of project-level spend

  • Facilitate the capital acquisition request process, by working with project leaders to develop business cases for vetting requests with Online Finance management and Corporate Capital to secure approvals in a timely fashion

  • Ensure proper controls are in place with capital acquisition process; educate business partners on process and enforce regularly to maximize compliance

  • Own the month close process for production and technology, including preparing/approving accruals and journal entries, reviewing P&L and balance sheet to ensure data accuracy, issuing monthly variance analyses, and reviewing business performance with VP of Online Production and VP of Online Technology

  • Own the monthly estimate process for production and technology, including working with business partners to gather latest assumptions on expenses, evaluate impact of business trends on overall forecast, explaining and preparing variance analyses, identifying key risks and opportunities, and preparing estimate package for submission

  • Manage the annual budget process and long range planning process for production and technology capital and operating expenses, including partnering with VP of Online Production and VP of Online Technology to deliver bottom-up budget and top-down long range plan to meet targets, managing iterations and variance analyses, assisting with seeking alignment with global/affiliate brands in planning process, and preparing templates and presentations required for budget and long range plan

  • Work closely with AP colleagues to ensure POs and invoices are processed timely and accurately

  • Serve as key financial lead for ad-hoc strategic projects, including developing scenario planning, breakeven analyses, building business cases and ROI analyses, measuring post-mortem impact of projects and initiatives, etc.

  • Challenge the status quo and seek continuous incremental improvements on existing processes to help drive more efficient and accurate financial reporting and analysis


  • Position requires 5 years of corporate finance or banking experience; loyalty finance/accounting experience is preferred

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or economics is preferred

  • MBA in finance or business management is preferred

  • Excellent written, oral communication, presentation and negotiation skills

  • Ability to work with large sets of data

  • Must have strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Must hold high standards on accuracy and timeliness

  • Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to research, identify and resolve

  • Must be detail-oriented as well as a broad strategic thinker

  • A mature self-starter who can take charge of a project and follow through to completion

  • Strong ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Ability to thrive in a matrix organization and work well on cross-functional teams

  • SAP experience a plus
