Identify and research all attributes of products, sku’s, etc. thru cooperation with Packaging Development and GBSC to competently, completely, and accurately create and issue Packaging Outlines and Component Codes, with respect for communicated critical dates.

Packaging Outlines

-Collect and analyze complete data from P/Developers, M.E., and GBSC via project profiles, interviews, etc.

-Check for all components critical to the project type based on Brand and history.

-Code information into PDS based on rules in force for that Brand and commodity.

-Confirm and code printed value info in PDS, based on direction and regulation

-Directly handle changes coming from Brand Operations including all phase related activities.

-Check to make sure all relevant variants are kept up to date.

-Rebuild any SKU Packaging Operation’s touches to conform to new guidelines.

-Inform Developers when changes require action on their part, that result from change requests initiated by other than Packaging

-Release outlines into the system and ensure notification goes to the appropriate parties.

-Bring new Brands into the PDS system and standard outline process/procedures and format, without disrupting their current process.

-Maintain and Balance outline generation within published department performance standard

-Provide direction and counseling for customers unclear about company outline procedure, process, and requirements

-Maintain familiarity of all Brands process, and serve as back-up or additional resource as required

-Actively participate in the Origination Issue Avoidance program

Component Specifications

-Link supplier to specifications

-Link existing Drawing to specification

-Link existing Standards to specification

-Launch specification to supplier. Inform suppliers of the data that is needed for the proper specification of the various component commodities

-Serve as first line direction for supplier contact for spec completion and/or navigation difficulties

-Provide direction, contacts, and instruction to new suppliers for intro into the Supplier Specification Web Site.

-Enter Specification data upon request, for unique circumstances of new components that could not follow traditional work flow


-Provide testing, critique, and alternatives of upgrades and new systems prior to roll out. Interface with PTM to gain and maintain access to required testing systems.

  • Provide research, error identification, and upgrade recommendations to current systems using direct interaction with GIS analysts to achieve these results, and correct system malfunctions


-Interface and communicate with the Package Developers, GBSC, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to determine needs, provide satisfactory customer service, and provide direction or instruction as required and related to Packaging outlines.

-Satisfactorily complete special assignments and projects as assigned by Director, Packaging Operations

-Review systems, procedures, policies, and processes currently in place in order to recommend changes that will streamline the process, increase efficiencies, and/or enhance accuracy


Background should include an understanding of the Packaging process, Planning Process, Data flow of PDS, and Manufacturing Subsystems and Process. Good presentation and communication skills are considered a requirement. Average ability in Word, Excel, and Outlook are required.
