Bumble and bumble is a fast-growing, luxury hair care brand located in NYC. It started as an NYC salon and evolved into a multi-million dollar brand comprised of 2 salons, a product company that houses a strong in-house creative agency, a direct sales force, and a university for hairdressers and salon owners.

Position Summary:

Drive sales and market share growth of Bb. in North America Specialty/Multi and Network Salon channels through the planning and successful execution of brand marketing programs, new product launches and core product/franchise support. This position will work cross-functionally with Sales and Global Marketing as well as other areas to ensure programs are tailored and optimized to effectively drive our channels and executed with excellence.


Strategy / Planning:

  • Collaborate with Director Retail Marketing, Global Marketing, Social/Digital Marketing and Field Sales team to plan and calendarize launch and marketing program support for Specialty/Multi and Bb.Network Salon channels.

  • Champion the various channel specific needs and strive to ensure marketing programs serve to connect, engage and inspire Owners/Managers, Stylists and clients.

Marketing Programming:

  • Execute marketing strategies for all channels including launch / re-promote support and inspiration / business building / new business / sampling programs.

  • Develop a mix of tactics that strengthen brand relevance, meets sales goals and are consistent with brand strategies.

  • Prepare launch/program set-up documentation for Sales Ops and partner with them to ensure timely launch and delivery of all programs.

  • Attend and/or lead all necessary meetings and serve on special project teams as assigned, document and track status and next steps as necessary.

  • Exhibit strong understanding of all drivers on business performance (including quantitative and qualitative data) to consistently optimize strategy and execution.

Presentation and Communication to the Field / Channel Partners:

  • Develop presentations and support materials for key meetings including North America Sales Gathering, National Sales call, DOS call and key partner Salon meetings.

  • Collaborate with Sales Strategy in the development of channel specific seasonal presentations.

  • Collaborate with the Digital team to develop and schedule email communications to Network.

  • Compile content for weekly NA Marketing communication to the Field.

  • Ensure timely delivery of information to the Field in a clear and organized manner.

  • Manage ad-hoc Field requests for marketing support.

Performance / Market / Competitive Tracking and Reporting:

  • Measure marketing program effectiveness via regular monitoring of KPI’s – sell-in, sell thru (where possible), comparison to benchmark activities/launches, cannibalization, mix of business.

  • Communicate key learnings and make analytically supported recommendations to influence development of future programs.

  • Conduct channel surveys and focus groups as needed.

Pricing Strategy:

  • Develop pricing recommendations for new product launches in Canada and route approvals internally.

  • Canadian pricing analysis 3 year increase strategy.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, conceptualize and implement new ideas

  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and expertise in Excel.

  • Flexibility to manage developing initiatives and quick turnaround for execution.

  • Strong multi-tasker, ability to work on multiple projects with multiple deadlines.

  • Excellent team player with the ability to build, foster and nurture relationships with cross- functional team members and retail partners.

  • Excellent written and oral communications, excellent presentation skills.

  • Self-motivator and ability to personally organize and set priorities.

  • Ability to take ownership of projects and drive others to meet deadlines.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing and/or Business; MBA preferred

  • Must have 5 to 7 years of Marketing experience in Professional Hair and strong understanding of Specialty/Multi and network Salon channels. Mix of Professional Hair and Beauty experience considered.
