Reporting to the Director of Strategic Finance, this position will oversee the New Product Costing Process and Gross Margin Management for the Origins division. This position will be accountable for overseeing the accuracy of new product cost objectives, developing monthly and full-year Global Cost of Goods estimates and providing Cost of Goods guidance during annual Strategy and Plan development.

  • Manage the New Product Costing Process in the Origins division. Liaise with brand Senior Management to launch new products that meet strategic profitability objectives.

  • Partner with the Global Marketing teams in each the division's brands to develop accurate cost objectives for all new product launches as well as sets and limited life items. Spearhead the improvement in accuracy and timing of new product cost objectives.

  • Provide early COG impact analyses on new products at a regional and global level and prior to any purchase commitments being made. Work closely with Global Marketing to improve profitability on products that don't meet divisional and brand targets.

  • Collaborate with Global Marketing and the Shared Service groups (GSR, GBSC, GBP, Product Dev., Packaging Dev., R&D, Mech. Engineering) for the purpose of achieving the lowest possible cost on new products while maintaining brand equity and innovation.

  • Develop and maintain the full year global mix-of-business analysis showing actual/projected units, sales, cost, gross profit and mix by category, subcategory and region.

  • Perform Strategic Planning and “What if Scenarios” involving current/future year COG impacts of new product scenarios. Analyze the year over year impact of sets and limited life.

  • Collaborate with Global Marketing and Global Business Planning on SKU rationalization for new products with the objective of maximizing portfolio profitability and mix.

  • Contribute guidance, information and analyses to the Global Brand during their annual Strategy and Plan development.

  • Participate in Value Analysis exercises in order to determine and implement cost reduction opportunities for existing products.

  • Perform various special projects and analyses on an as-needed basis.


3 Years of experience in Cost Accounting or Finance with emphasis on product costing

Excellent Microsoft and systems skills; Experience with SAP is a plus

Strong analytical skills and highly detailed-oriented

Solid oral and written communication skills and the ability to lead meetings
