JOB TITLE: Director, Retail Store Operations

Responsible for Retail Store and DepartmentStore Operations including ensuring all Free Standing Store locations areadhering to Corporate Policies and Procedures. This includes maintaining safetystandards, opening new retail store locations, executing all aspects of Storeclosures, and leads the inventory process for Retail Stores. Workscollaboratively with North America Field, VP Sales and Education and VP/GMNorth America.
Leads all aspects ofthe Retail Store Operations team
Anticipate opportunities and risks and developseffective responses and action plans.
Communicate and align business strategies to coreoperational priorities.
Collaborate cross-functionally daily to design costeffective and efficient programs or processes to address critical actionsand business needs.
Advises business unit leadership on recommendations andinfluences decision making.
Identify trends and opportunities to define changes inprocess and procedures that drive operations and selling agendas.
Develop communication to stores on operational and salesrelated activities.
Continuously improve operational performance in thebusiness while considering consistency in operational processes and theneeds of the total store.
Influence productivity and cost saving opportunities inall operational components
Ensure a world class customer experience exists for ourcustomers through effective execution of selling and service culture bycontinually staying connected to customer needs, anticipating changes, andpreparing teams to meet consumer challenges.
Partner with Planning and Allocation teams to ensureproduct and store allocations provides a cohesive strategy and brandexperience, to drive sales revenue opportunities. Partner with VisualMerchandising to ensure achievement of visual merchandising standards.
Partner with Marketing & Creative team to plan andpromote retail signage and marketing efforts.
Achieve operational excellence through timely monitoringof reports to meet or exceed all financial objectives with regards toexpense control, store contribution, and pre-tax income.
Work with VM/GM North America to develop and evaluatestrategies for opening new store formats including optimization plans thatrespond to regional, seasonal, and geographical needs. Partner with realestate, finance, and store development teams to determine optimal storelocations.
Strategically support growth of the fleet to meet futureexpectation and growth of the retail division.
Monitor and maintain compliance of all policies andprocedures. Communicate business opportunities and identify possiblesolutions.
Establish ongoing routines with Regional Sales andEducation Directors (RSED) and Operations team to ensure operationalpriorities and process/procedure changes are communicated, understood andexecuted consistently across the region/markets.
Act as the liaison between the subject matter teams(Planning, HR, Business Development) and front line executioneffectiveness.
Advise Regional Sales and Education Directors on resultsagainst established goals
Facilitate problem resolution on issues related tofacilities, maintenance, transaction process, loss and risk management,transportation, business partner support.
Integrate and collaborate with RSED’s and Ops team toidentify gaps and provide integrated coaching.
Maintain a presence in the field in order to effectivelysupport Regional Sales and Education Directors.
Contributesideas to the strategic plan to manage the seasonal store inventory.Ability to communicate, facilitate, and oversee the seasonal storeinventory plan to the RSEDs and below. Communicate any roadblocks to theappropriate people in a timely manner.
Manages RetailStore closures of unprofitable or relocation doors including the returnof merchandise, destruction of collateral and fixtures, turnover back tomall/landlord, etc.
Works with RealEstate group to ensure timely turnover of new retail store locations.
Leads the fieldteam in end to end set up of new retail store locations including allrelative communication throughout the process.
Ensures punchlist for all retail store locations is communicated and subsequentlyfollowed up on.
Responsible forthe roll out and proper education of the ROS system.
Ensures storesare well versed in Policy and Procedure guidelines and that they arecompliant with such guidelines.
Works with LossPrevention team to ensure any suspicious activity is being documented,investigated and followed up on.
Leads thesafety initiatives for Retail Stores and ensures we are compliant withsafety guidelines and minimize risks to both consumers and staff alike.
Partners withDirector of Planning, Analytics and Operations for Retail Store P&Lcontrolling expenses, identifying opportunities and ensuring bestpractices are being followed in the stores
Ability to understand P&L to ensure financialaccountability of retail stores
Activelyparticipates in monthly review of retail store Key Performance Indicators andpeople.
Works withcross-functional partners including analytics, planning and operations team
Inspirescollaborative working relationships resulting in the retention of highlytalented and skilled employees.
The candidate shouldhave 8 years of progressive management experience with a store operationsand/or sales background.
Candidates musthave strong leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to lead a team ina manner that garnered consistent results.
Strong background inP&L is preferred
Retail storeexperience is a plus
The ability tocollaborate and achieve consensus with other work groups is critical.
Excellent writtenand oral communication skills are a must.
Must be proficientin Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Position requires upto 25% travel.
