Reporting to both the Global Brand GM and the ELCV Finance VP, this position will oversee our Global Brand strategic plan as well as the budget process and finance acceleration. Oversee and manage the validation of monthly estimates, productivity analyses, retail performance and other key metrics. In this hands-on entrepreneurial role, the primary function of this position is to be a partner to the business for the growth and development of this already global brand across multiple regions. The position will be accountable for providing day-to-day accounting services and will need to institute a more formalized and sophisticated process as the brand continues to grow, while ensuring that appropriate financial controls are in place. Overseeing the accuracy of financial reporting and forecasts, generating long-range projections and monitoring actual results against forecasts.



  • Develop the accounting team from a small operation to supporting a mid-size company including, but not limited to general accounting, AP and AR

  • Maintain accounting systems and records in compliance with US GAAP and SOX

  • Ensure and maintain governance and compliance; maintain all internal accounting policies (capital policy, revenue recognition, Inventory, payroll) in compliance with ELC, US GAAP and SOX, as an example

  • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing / billing, payroll, customer credits and collections, check runs, bank requisitions, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records general and entity accounting and support cost accounting

  • Review monthly reconciliations of the GL to sub-ledger and independent supporting documentations

  • Review the accuracy and integrity of all financial statements

  • Own and manage the closing process to ELC timelines and allow for timely, complete and accurate monthly reporting

  • Review the bank reconciliations and overall working capital management

  • Review compliance in all subsidiary tax areas including accurate preparation and payment of property, payroll, sales and use tax compliance filings

  • Manage the preparation for external audit process and assist with management of field work

  • Review and maintain the fixed assets and lease schedules

  • Manage and maintain the Inventory process, including pricing, and bill of material

  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, control and checks across all departments

  • General accounting book-keeping

  • Prepare a timely, clear and concise reporting package outlining the monthly, quarterly and year to date financial performance

  • Monitor and report on the efficiency and effectiveness of cash flow position for the company

  • Works with the New Business Finance VP to implement ELC processes and activities

  • Recommending expansion of capabilities in anticipation of the brands growth

P&L Management

  • Lead the consolidation of global financial reporting packages, ensuring accuracy and completion; evaluating risks and opportunities

  • Develop global financial reporting packages available to enhance brand analysis and to provide insightful metrics for business management

  • Partner with Le Labo and ELC management to ensure projections and allocations are aligned

  • Develop brand guidelines and timetables to meet deadlines and ensure all departments have sufficient information to prepare their annual budgets

  • Perform strategic planning and “what if” scenarios to provide analysis throughout the planning process

  • Oversight and execution of fixed asset accounting including additions, disposals, depreciation and accounts payable function for fixed asset additions

  • Oversight of global support reporting; ensure variance analysis identifies savings and exposures to department managers

  • Ensure ongoing SOX compliance and adherence to corporate financial and accounting policies

  • Key contact for T&E, AMEX, and various other Corporate programs

  • Oversee monthly accounting and reporting for Le Labo

  • Oversee the integration of Le Labo financial systems / processes into ELC

  • Special analysis and projects as required

Strategic Planning

  • Works with Global Brand GM and leadership to draft strategy for the 3-year and 10-year view

Venture Finance

  • The brand has ambitious plans and this position needs to make recommendations on appropriate investments both in amounts and in realistic timing

  • Need to be able to understand priorities and trade-offs for business investment decisions and act as a business partner to implement these

  • Need to gather regional input for overall strategy and financial planning. Work with ELC regions in North America, Travel Retail, APAC, EMEA, LATAM, and the UK as part of regular business.


Minimum Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting, MBA is a plus

Minimum Years of Experience: 10 years

% of Travel Time: 10%

Brand experience is a must

Experience in cosmetics or consumer goods preferred

Excellent Excel and Power Point skills
