The Executive Director for Global Promotions – Holiday/Category Promotions will oversee all marketing activities related to the Estee Lauder global promotional business for Holidays as well as sets/paid sampling that are programmed year round for the skincare, makeup and fragrance categories, which represent $410 million net dollars yearly (14% of total EL global business).
Develops innovative promotional programs that support the global marketing calendar and the brand’s key strategic objectives, driving sales and ensuring regional relevance.
Incorporates key innovation, newness and digital support in programs to engage and recruit new consumers and drive growth in all categories
Leads strategy and development, working with cross functional teams to ensure program positioning, pricing, package design, support the strategy and financial objectives.
Leads & drives consumer engagement strategies at key gift giving times of year through dynamic O2O campaigns (Holiday, CNY, Spring)
Oversees the development of the brand BCRF initiatives with corporate management team (as the EL brand liaison).
Oversees the development of our metal compact and sold perfume business.
Oversees our paid sampling business, monitoring forecasts and evaluating results.
Establishes digital, in-store support and advertising strategies:
o Solicits feedback on current initiatives and evaluate new opportunities to evolve support strategies with a focus on digital
o Works closely with creative and copy and NOAM throughout the development process
Develops global promotional penetration targets to ensure promotional activity is monitored by region.
Monitors brand performance versus competition to identify needs, gaps and opportunities; maintains on-going contact with markets to keep abreast of program effectiveness and evolve strategies as needed.
Oversees global program offerings and evaluates forecasts to ensure brand business plan is met.
Supervises 3 people; a Director. Asst Manager and Associate on program development and implementation.
Prepares and delivers presentations for Global Roundtable meetings;
Assists in preparation for all brand strategy presentations
Leads internal strategic and development discussions and presents programs to senior management for approvals; chairs bi-weekly PPD (Packaging and Product Development) meetings.
Undergraduate College degree; MBA preferred.
Position requires 10 years relevant work experience.
Staff management experience; sets appropriate goals; evaluates and organizes work assignments to maximize/enhance staff contribution and development.
Strong mix of strategic sense and analytical skills. Financial acumen and budgeting experience required.
Position requires strong leadership skills and project management skills.
Excellent written and oral communications, excellent presentation skills, ability to personally organize and set priorities and to drive other people.
Must be able to establish departmental priorities, processes and policies effectively.
Effective negotiation skills with ability to gain cooperation at all levels, internally and externally.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of the following systems - CPMS, IBM, AS 400, IPS, IMW, and NPD.
