National Artistry Trainer (Texas)
Event Planning and Execution (up to 70% of job function)
Support, lead and participate in Regional, National and Outsource event planning and execution. Responsible for achievement of event goals.
Increase retail sales through event results and in-store training initiatives; continuously strive to take sales and artistry to next level, both individual and team sales results/skills.
Initiate innovative ways to impact sales and drive retail results (i.e. special outsourcing events).
Perform as Guest Speaker and Lead Artist in local/regional and National Trend Shows.
Sell side by side with in-store teams during key retailer events.
Leadership and In Store (up to 30% of job function)
Coach counter teams daily, side-by-side to achieve retail sales goals: Work strategically in store to train new artists on product knowledge, artistry techniques, sampling, and selling skills. Motivate staff to creatively pull customers, sampling, maximize sales opportunities, and improve artistry skills and event booking.
Lead, mentor, and coach regional Area Artistry Trainers.
Lead and elevate Regional training initiatives in partnership with Sales Directors and Account Executives (i.e., Color Encore, Departmental Trainings, Gondola Trainings, Counter Manager Meetings, and Freelance Trainings).
Attend and contribute to seasonal Casting Call and Call Back seminars.
Contribute artistry expertise and advanced product knowledge in key Regional training initiatives.
Conduct new store opening trainings with emphasis on artistry technique and product knowledge.
Sell side by side with in store teams in order to develop and guide selling / artistry skills and goal achievement.
Communicate weekly with AE, and RTE on overall business strengths and opportunities; recommend solutions.
Communicate with AE or DM as needed regarding any staff or event execution concerns and scheduling needs.
Maintain clear communication with Director of Sales on business successes and challenges within the region.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with store staff and management, and continuously reinforce brand awareness.
Track Region sales and event performance weekly and relay strategies to Executive Director of Education on weekly touch bases.
Effectively manage T&E budgetary objectives.
Demonstrate the highest level of leadership and professionalism, always upholding the Smashbox mission statement and image, while maintaining a positive attitude at all times.
Studio level artistry skills combined with the ability to teach those skills to others.
Strong presentation skills; the ability to speak via structured format or “off the cuff” to small or large audiences.
Flexible schedule and the ability to travel within and outside of region.
Open and able to embrace change; Business needs and retail environment often shift.
3-5 years of professional cosmetic industry experience/artistry experience.
3-5 years selling experience.
Must be willing to travel (50%)
Strong platform speaking experience and training experience.
