Position Summary

Responsible for the day to day activities of theCanadian based Global Distribution Centre. Operations to be planned to providecost effective service to both internal and external customers. Responsible for the supervision of various departmentswithin a Distribution environment which include: Inventory Control/Returns,Receiving, Order Processing, and Warehousing. Responsible for performancemanagement of direct reports including effective utilization of temporarymanpower; based on trust and respect. Maintain a positive environment.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Manage Daily Operations
  • Daily planning day to day departmental operations.

  • Monitorand control variable costs and labor costs.

  • Balancelabor against volume demands.

  • Work closely and liaise with other departments andactively pursue Process Improvement

  • Achievedepartmental performance measures (KPI’s) and metrics that meet or exceed Bestin Class benchmarks.

  • Activeparticipation in a continuous learning manner with respect to new and emergingdistribution system technologies, including the new Opex Perfect Pick andExacta’s Warehouse Execution System.

  • Ensure that all Quality Control and IndustrialSafety Standards are communicated to all employees, and that self-inspectionmethods are in place to assure compliance.

  • Ensureaccurate picking to minimize charge backs from our customers.

  • Achievemonthly sales budgets for (MAC, EL and CL) brands.

  • Meetall International Affiliates and North America Brand commitments.

  • Establishand maintain the security of the warehouse, providing for that application ofgood housekeeping techniques and the prevention of any potential hazards bystrictly adhering to HPB (Health Canada) and GMP guidelines.

  • Dutiesand responsibilities may be amended from time to time in order to supportefficient company operations.

3. EHS, GMP and Legislative Compliance

  • Maintain Regulatory compliance;including HPB (Health Canada) legislation; Transportation of DangerousGoods; Federal, Provincial and Corporate EHS requirements (OHSA; WSIB;MOL; CLC)

  • Ensureall employees are trained and adhere to EHS and GMP SOP’s to contribute toa safe working environment.

  • Promotean atmosphere that creates the safest work environment possible; with thegoal to achieve Best in Class Safety Standards

4. Leadership

  • Proactively seeks waysto improve personal and organizational effectiveness to meet current andfuture business needs.

  • Supervises, coordinates, trains, and providesleadership to and reviews the work of assigned staff while ensuring uninterrupteddistribution to our customers.

Qualifications

Skill Requirement

  • Strong Computer Skills in all MS OfficeApplications

  • SAP, WMS, or WES experience an asset

  • Strong analytical, mathematical or data analysis

  • Knowledge of reverse logistics

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Adept at managing competing priorities and time sensitivecommitments

  • Problem assessment and solving skills

  • Stays current on emergency technologies andinnovations

  • Thorough working knowledge of distributionautomation systems (goods-to-person, pick-to-light)

  • Working within a team environment both as team memberand leader

  • Abilityto modify or change established methods and procedures with a focus oncontinuous process improvement

  • Demonstrates high ethical standard and professionalconduct

  • Six Sigma/ Lean experience an asset

  • Must be hands on with a “can do” attitude

  • Work weekends and extended shift hours as needed

  • Other duties as may be assigned
