POSITION SUMMARY

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Operation of Equipment, Assembly, Coordination, Minor Maintenance (80%)
  • Working and operational knowledge of all equipment in accordance with GMP and safety procedures (automated hot stamp printers, automated thermal printers, web techniques label counter & re-winder, counting scales)

  • Set up, start up and shutdown of all pertinent equipment (including emergency stops, safety guarding and safety interlocks).

  • Trouble shoots and makes adjustments to equipment during the process to ensure product quality is within QA standards.

  • Perform general PM and AM and report upkeep of equipment

  • Assist with testing of new label stock (e.g. thickness, glue, etc.)

  • Print and issue labels as per label requisition.(returns / picks)

  • Responsible for the physical and system transfer of new label shipments (receiving of labels through POs in WMS)

  • Inventory control-conduct cycle count as per cycle count program.

  • Investigate, document and report label variances.

  • Perform system transfer of in-process labels.

  • Maintain work area according to GMP requirement.

  • Documentation and destruction of labels in accordance with GMP guidelines.

  • Support GMP by following defined work practices.

Continuous Improvement (20%)

  • Actively participate and support facility and corporate WCM initiatives

  • Review new equipment purchase specifications; provide feedback on equipment design and operability; support capital project installations (F.A.T, etc.)

  • Participate and provide input for design upgrades for outmoded devices and systems in an effort to increase production up-time and operational efficiencies

  1. Health and Safety (100% - At all times)
  • Proactively identify and resolve safety concerns

  • Observe and conform to all corporate EH&S guidelines and procedures

  • Adhere to established Lockout/Tag out Programs

  • Actively participate and evaluate PSR’s

  • Participate in the establishment of annual EH&S objectives

  1. Housekeeping (100% - At all times)
  • Maintain clean work environment on the production floor and within the maintenance shop.

  • Conform to all ergonomic assessment requirements

  • Actively participate and support the Canadian Operations 5S Program

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

Education: high school

Experience: preferable 2 year on related manufacturing functions

Competencies:

o Technical: Basic knowledge of how to use machine tools and hand tools safely and correctly.

o Ability to apply knowledge of coding / stamping / production labels utilizing the pertinent equipment to maintain efficient performance

o Communication / Interpersonal: English language proficiency; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to resolve issues in a tactful and diplomatic manner, communicate expectations and outline maintenance requirements

o Other: Knowledge of company’s production systems, procedures, documentation, and QA standards; Team player, self starter, and a customer service orientation
