PRIMARY FUNCTION

Support Sales & Marketing Manager in maximizing La Mer’s full sales potential to market size by increasing target customers spending through current and possibly, new channels or point of distribution. Responsible for all aspects of sales function, from forecasting sales & inventory, Ensure overall sales targets are met so as to achieve the brand’s overall sales objectives.

Partner with the Education Manager in developing & coaching field team to be effective in their selling capabilities, consumers’ management, daily operation, promotional activities and efficient running of all retail counters. This position will also work closely with the (Senior) Counter Managers in identifying training needs and opportunities so as to partner with the Education Manager in designing training solutions.

Ensure Customer Growth

  • Maximize and expand business volume while abiding to Estee Lauder Companies corporate business direction.

  • Propose monthly retail & net sales targets for all counters.

  • Monitor retail & net sales vs Retailer’s target & Financial plan. Ensure sell-through targets are met.

  • Ensure that all counters are sufficiently and well-balanced stocked, to prevent loss of sales.

  • Establish retail sales goals and motivate sales team to achieve targets.

  • Present promotional plans to Retail Partners together with Marketing team, & ensure that promotional activities are carried out effectively at all counters.

  • Provide feedback on ad-hoc store activities on a regularly basis.

  • Be informed of individual store sales and customer profile.

  • Recommend new product needs and promotional strategies based on competitors’ activities and other industry sources.

  • Maintain strong business relationship with retail partners.

  • Work closely with Demand Planning Team to ensure accurate product forecasting to meet sales trends and customer needs.

  • Plan and propose sell-in and sell-through targets.

Manages Operational Effectiveness

  • Establish and achieve sell in and sell through sales targets, business planning accuracy (BPA) and inventory targets.

  • Set daily sales targets and ensure that targets are met.

  • Review stock module, analyze and control returns to ensure accurate mix of products for daily and promotional business.

  • Help Sales and Marketing Manager forecast products accurately to meet sales trends and customer needs.

  • Manage and maintain a healthy inventory level & category mix in all retail outlets.

  • Analyze and submit competitors’ activities on a monthly basis.

  • Brief the team on objectives, sales target, incentives for promotions and events.

  • Participate in promotional set up for all counters.

  • Plan and allocate manpower for all promotional activities, shows, workshops etc. Work with (Senior) Counter Managers to propose staff strength and establish a list of Experts for all promotional events.

  • Ensure that (Senior) Counter Managers return all testers and collaterals to the warehouse.

  • Work at the counter with the team on all promotional events, ensure proper visual merchandising according to brand’s guidelines.

  • Weekly update on sales and promotional activities.

  • Assist Sales & Marketing Manager to effectively control over sales expenses, returns and promotional expenses.

  • Prepare all monthly and annual sales reports & commentaries to Brand General Manager.

  • Develop and track incentives for new products and ongoing.

  • Manage and track net sales achievement each month. Follow-through with (Senior) Counter Managers to ensure POs are placed.

Improves Business Processes

  • Ensure customers’ information are accurately captured and reported on a monthly and yearly basis.

  • Ensure timely submission of monthly reports including commission paperwork.

  • Monitors all experts’ progress through monthly Productivity Reports to identify training / coaching needs.

  • Work closely with Sales Operations Assistant to compile all sales statistics as directed by Sales & Marketing Manager on a monthly and yearly cumulative basis.

  • Prepare all monthly and annual sales reports including competitors’ activities and sales team commission.

  • Assist Sales & Marketing Manager in management of the following :

  • Budget / VFB1 & VFB2 planning processes

  • Annual Store Business Review Presentation

  • Annual Stock Take

Leads and Develops People

  • Management of all Sales personnel’s manpower allocation, welfare, development plan and productivity.

  • Work with HR in establishing the recruitment standards of field sales personnel.

  • Ensure hiring of correct caliber, continue development and handle all HR issue regarding sales force.

  • Supervise and motivate (Senior) Counter Managers & Experts to achieve sales objectives set by the brand.

  • Review performance of field team and (Senior) Counter Managers to ensure that performance is up to expectation and provide feedback to Sales & Marketing Manager before conducting appraisals.

  • Conduct counseling sessionstogether with (Senior) Counter Managers, when necessary.

  • Partner with (Senior) Counter Managers to set objectives and identify areas for improvement for all experts.

Coaching

  • Feedback to Education Manager on Expert progress at counter, and help to identify training programs for Experts and (Senior) Counter Managers.

  • Ensure that the field teamis constantly upgraded to meet the requirements of the job.

  • Coach Experts and Aestheticians in their professional knowledge and maintain a high standard of customer service at counter.

  • Monitor experts and aestheticians grooming standards as per grooming guidelines.

  • Ensure that the techniques and concepts taught in classroom are implemented on the shopfloor

  • Guide new hires and coach experts that are under-performing on sales, customer service and product knowledge.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Tertiary or Diploma required.

  • Minimum of 4 years in supervisory role in sales and retail.

  • Good interpersonal skills : motivational, leadership & strong communication skills.

  • Numerically inclined with strong analytical skills.

  • Computer literate in Excel and Word.

  • Dynamic & well groomed.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Proactive and go-getter.

  • Independent and reliable.
