Job Function:

The role of Package Testing Analyst is to add quantitative analysis which assures the package will contain and deliver the product during its useful life, while meeting Estee Lauder’s commitment to excellence. In this role, the Package Testing Analyst utilizes standard procedures to perform physical, functional and aesthetic evaluations of packaging components and materials.


  1. Independently performs technical evaluation of packages for seal, weight loss, compatibility, fill level, function, etc. using predetermined standard procedures to achieve and maintain high quality package performance.

  2. Use technical knowledge, gained through practical experience and formal education to interpret test results.

  3. Determines whether additional testing is required for a given unit of packaging material.

  4. May investigate and report on strengths and weaknesses of new and innovative packaging materials.

  5. Writes report, may present findings to management group and/or make recommendations to management and/or NY Package Development groups.

  6. Conducts problem solving analyses to deal with manufacturing, quality, and functional issues.

  7. Performs other duties as assigned and required.

  8. Provide input and creativity in developing predictive analytical test methods



Bachelors Degree in Packaging Science or a related discipline

Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills

Self motivated

Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills

Attention to details a must

Ability to work independently and as a team member

Material Science Material Science/ Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering to the College Degree qualifications.
