Associate Director Research Salon
This position will manage the operations of the Research Salon including Sensory Testing and Panelist Relations, leading a team of 6-10 employees. The function of the Research Salon is to conduct technical performance testing which will consist of evaluating both retail and professional hair care products for formula development, safety, sensory and claims substantiation. Key to the success of the Salon Manager will be successful prioritization and collaboration with multiple cross-functional customers that make critical business decisions using the assessments performed by the Salon Team. Additionally, the Salon Manager will be expected to create and maintain a Professional Hair Salon environment for the benefit of both internal and external guests of the salon’s services.
Manage the overall operation of the Research Salon with responsibility for panelist recruitment and product testing schedules.
Manage a team of Salon Technicians responsible to execute technical testing and data generation that will provide the confidence in making business decisions on product performance and ultimately commercialization to meet business objectives.
Responsible for managing and developing Salon Staff to meet team and individual career objectives. Strong ability to motivate, coach and grow the capabilities and skills of the Salon Staff.
Responsible overseeing the compliance of safety, quality and data integrity requirements of the Salon operation. Establishing and maintaining written policies and procedures for operation of the Research Salon and qualification of the Salon Technicians. Also ensuring all State and local regulatory requirements are consistently met and adhered to ensure uninterrupted operation of the Research Salon.
Strong collaboration with Claims, Safety In-Use, Sensory and Formulation teams to prioritize and execute Research studies. Optimize internal processes to maximize efficiency and integrity of recruiting, study execution and recordkeeping.
Develop a strong collaborative working relationship with Sr. management to ensure alignment and prioritization of business goals and objectives.

Minimum Years of Experience: 8

Licenses or Certifications: Cosmetologist Operator
License and Salon Manager License
