QA Lab Technician - 3rd Shift

Entry level quality control position for the performance of organoleptic and analytical testing of raw materials, in-process mass (bulk), mass and finished goods to assure conformance to written specification.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform mass product testing to assure compliance with written specifications
Perform finished goods testing to assure compliance with written specifications.
Perform raw material testing to assure compliance with written specifications
Perform in-process mass adjustments to assure compliance with written specifications
Perform other duties as assigned
Initiate and perform out of specification (OOS) lab Investigations when OOS results are encountered.
Clean laboratory glassware and utensils as needed
Candidate must have college level chemistry and academic laboratory experience, or, a minimum of 12 months professional lab experience which includes; pH analysis, specific gravity/density determinations, viscosity determinations, titrations, and/or similar testing.
Prior experience in the use of FT/IR and UV-VIS preferred.
Normal color vision and normal sense of smell required.
No known or significant allergy or sensitivity to chemicals/raw materials used in the manufacture or testing of personal care products.
Will be expected to apply product to skin for odor and appearance evaluation.
Must be familiar with Good Laboratory Practices.
Must be attentive to detail and able to follow established policies and procedures. Excellent problem solving and data analysis skills required.
Basic math skills are required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must work well within a team framework. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook/Word/Excel) is preferred.
Position requires self-motivated individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment. Candidate must have excellent time management skills and be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
Ability to stand for up to 7 hours per shift.
Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted.
Candidate must be flexible in their work schedule.
Expected to work overtime to service production as business demands require.
This is a 3rd shift position. Hours are Sunday evening through Friday morning 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
