Manufacturing engineers ensure Right First Time Execution and execution of all new product launches, formulation and package transitions on existing inline business. Demonstrate strong problem solving and time management skills as well as provide supervision, mentoring, leadership and guidance to lower level Manufacturing Engineers. Drive World-Class Quality, Margin, and Speed to Market. Serve as liaison between Plant Operations and other departments such as Packaging, Marketing, Design, R&D, GBSC, QA and suppliers ensuring package/product specifications are within manufacturing capabilities while meeting Brand and customer expectations. Demonstrate improvement through commercialization leadership across functions (R&D, Packaging, Products, SC), and throughout the end to end development cycle while leveraging global best practice and continuous improvement through KPI analysis and cross functional engagement.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Right First Time (RFT) Execution and Integration of New Product Launches Driving World-Class Quality, Margin, and Speed to Market.
Global ME and Engineering Category Alignment. Demonstrate global alignment driving optimization and Continous Improvement through innovation identification and sharing, category benchmarking, strategic capability and competency building, global best practice implementation, commercialization standardization to include talent leveraging across engineering functions to optimize RFT.
"Value Engineering - Deliver Brand/PMT COGs objectives through delivery of lowest lifecycle cost options in design, materials and process, which will achieve the desired level of service, performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction for new products."
Site Value Analysis - Ongoing strategic evaluation of the existing product portfolio with the objective of optimizing profitability through product modification, supply base management / alignment, and Supply Chain Methods improvement.
Provides supervision, mentoring leadership and guidance to Transit Package Developers, and interns.
Demonstrates talent management capabilities through ongoing support, development, and actively working to maximize the personal and professional potential of indirect reports and work associates.
Leads Commercialization excellence activity(RFT) across functions ( Eng, NPP, QA, TS, Products, Key Suppliers) ensuring world class execution and integration of new product innovation and launches, delivering KPI performance per corporate objectives and continuous improvement.
Abilitiy to successfully assemble, lead and manage a multi-functional value analysis team demonstrating an ability to deliver site and corporate savings goals.
Independently generates efficiency improvements and cost saving initiatives, develops realization strategies, and demonstrates the ability to deliver results.
Represent Manufacturing Engineering on capital/innovation projects ensuring robust execution capability is established and technology supports trends within the category.
Manage all functions of the ME department including line tests, shipper development, value analysis and pre/post launch reporting.
Assist in approval of new equipment and new/resourced componentry which meets the established criteria set by Manufacturing and Marketing.
Frequently meet with global Manufacturing Engineers managers to review procedures for standardization(LEAN) and benchmarking
University degree. Focus in Manufacturing, Packaging or Manufacturing Engineering.
Minimum of five (5) years' related experience
