The TOM FORD and KILIAN brand cluster in Travel Retail APAC is looking for an experienced store design manager. He/she has to have strong leadership skills in communication, partnership & ownership into delivering design work together with the Global travel retail design offices in our NY offices. He/she has to have strong interest in expanding on fixture designs, identifying alternative brand materials & design proportion as a core area of expertise/design interest.
The Store Design Manager is to lead the design, development & application of regional counter design for the brands under this portfolio. The key focus is on ensuring the brand design language is applied consistently across the Regional Travel Retail sites/locations.
This role is based in Singapore & is located within the Asia Pacific Travel Retail division.
This role reports to the TR APAC Store Design Director.
The Role & Responsibilities
He/she is to ensure all projects are completely assessed, reviewed & designed to the brand requirements & aligned with key stakeholders in the business.
He/she has to establish site requirements, review brand established designs & share potential solutions to be elevated; to answer on brand uniqueness with regional shopper differences; or overcome site challenges; or material creative choices & provide innovative design input. The timely delivery of these solutions is essential. The inclusion of enhancements in digital options, technology in the design work is a significant part of the future of retail work, these has to be seamlessly & ergonomically included within sites.
The Store Design Manager has to ensure team work & project communication across a wide team of stakeholders; regional shop-fitters, project managers, corporate store designers, brand visual merchandising teams, indirect procurement, material suppliers, occasionally retailers. The key stakeholders include; NY brand teams & the brand regional director.
He/she has to ensure the use of quality technical build drawings for all projects he/she is to ensure a high level of accuracy that allows for effective delivery of design & communication. He/she has to work with the NY brand teams to ensure the Brand has properly reviewed, aligned & clarified the design input.
On occasions reviewing/establishing/recommendations/adhering to retailer requirements to these sites will be required.
A BA/MA graduate in Architecture/ Interior Design/ Industrial Design.
With min experience of 1012 years in Interior/Retail Architecture environments in brands/ agency.
A strong understanding/interest in the retail industry of Fashion/ Cosmetics/ Fragrances & tobacco/ wines/ spirits.
Highly proficient in Computer skills, AutoCad, Vectorworks, Cinema 4D, Adobe Suite of softwares would be essential.
An ability to communicate, partner & team partner to design development.
Experience working in global organisations, ability to communicate & multi-task with different departments to execute the completion of projects.
Good command of both written & spoken English and Mandarin, is necessary to work with the various stakeholders.
Regional travel is required at approximately 30 40%.
