The Estée Lauder Companies are at the forefront of premium beauty with a diverse portfolio of brands encompassing all areas of beauty.

Within a multi-channelled distribution facility operating 2 sites totalling 190,000 square feet of workable space, we are responsible for the storage and distribution of 16 Brands comprising circa 9,500 saleable and 5,000 non saleable SKU’s. Products are distributed to a number of channels including wholesale, salons, online consumers and our free-standing store portfolio.

Our workforce consists of 203 permanent employees, with temporary staffing levels ranging from 110 off peak to 400 during peak. This is a 7 day operation, working shifts.

Estée Lauder Companies in the UK continues to grow within the Prestige Beauty arena and we have an exciting opportunity for a Operations Manager to join the Distribution & Logistics management team reporting to the Senior Operations Manager. This role will work in conjunction with another Operations Manager, managing 7 Work Area Managers.

You will be responsible for managing all DC & Logistics activity, including the receiving, warehousing and delivery of Estee Lauder product in a style consistent with meeting customer expectations and department cost objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide a safe working environment by working with the DC & Logistics Supervisory Team, and Health & Safety Manager to ensure year on year improvement in all relevant KPIs and embedding the behavioural safety program in every area of the UK distribution sites

  • Ensure the Distribution & Logistics function support the UK & Ireland Region by delivering monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets (open orders)

  • Ensure the UK Distribution and Logistics function is effective in supporting a multi-channel environment that includes Online Fulfilment, Retail (Free-Standing Store Model) and Wholesale distribution, with particular focus on delivering an omni-channel experience

  • Meet financial and productivity objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions. Identify and deliver cost saving opportunities

  • Manage capability levels and talent management processes through recruitment, training and performance management. Ensure all HR and Health & Safety policies and procedures are communicated, understood and adopted

  • Compile, track and review KPI suite for the Distribution & Logistics function and, where necessary, identify trends and take swift corrective action

  • Maintain physical layout and condition of warehouse planning and implement new design flows, inspect equipment, issue work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement

  • Responsible for the accurate physical counting and recording of inventory, identifying trends and implementing procedures to minimise loss / exposure within agreed targets

  • Timely execution of New Launch and Event fulfilment activity to meet internal and in store deadlines

  • Represent ELC UK Distribution & Logistics function where required at customer and industry meetings


  • Experience (including management) within Supply Chain in a DC environment

  • Proven leadership skills in an operational environment, with a proactive attitude

  • Knowledge of SAP, SAP Warehousing and other warehousing management systems

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills and be able to work with many stakeholders, both internal and external

  • Ability to align and engage the team to achieve the Company’s vision, strategy and goals

  • Courage to initiate and lead change to drive success

  • Ability to identify and cultivate essential skills and attributes to maximise individual contribution and engagement
