EMEA IT Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading teams to deliver high-profile projects that span across one or more brands, affiliates or functions within the EMEA region.

The successful candidate will be a passionate, hands-on professional with strong Retail IT background - well versed in effectively promoting the benefits of IT across the business to deliver a hearts and mind-set change. The role requires ongoing engagement with directors, department heads, key managers and stakeholders, as well as managing relationships with external trusted partners involved in delivering IT change into the business. The successful applicant will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with senior members of the Global and Regional IT and Business functions.

This is a key role which involves determining project needs and resources to deliver the technical and functional requirements for the plan, as well as ensuring budget and deadline expectations are met and resources managed efficiently.

The role will pick up and shape in-flight initiatives with aggressive timelines so will suit a candidate who thrives under this type of environment.

  • Manages multiple projects across the EMEA region reporting into the Exec Director for Portfolio and Programme Execution.

  • Develops business cases in partnership with Tech Leads and business stakeholders.

  • Completes financial analysis for IT solutions/applications.

  • Acts as facilitator to ensure a single vision and consistent requirements are agreed between business stakeholders, project and technical team members.

  • Recommends the criteria against which all projects are evaluated, to link their value to the corporate business strategy.

  • Works with the company's finance organisation to quantify project benefits in a way that will enable objective evaluation of projects against company objectives and thereby aid project approval decision-making

  • Maintains documentation and minutes of project review board meetings.

  • Monitors project in the portfolio - milestone schedule commitments, resource commitments - and collects project information to update the portfolio.

  • Provide technical feasibility analysis, functional analysis. and process mapping of technical requirements to ensure overall IT deliverable functionally meets user requirements.

  • Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large-scale projects.

  • Reviews high-level deliverables across projects.

  • Implements engagement review and quality assurance procedures in accordance with ELC methodology to ensure successful execution as measured by regional goals and customer satisfaction.

  • Minimises exposure and risk across multiple projects.

  • Manages scope and mitigates risk across projects.

  • Responsible for testing and quality assurance, prepares test scripts for required features in solutions, supports system integration (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT)

  • Organise support and production monitoring and ensure it is managed according to the documentation.

  • Responsible for successful handover of all projects into BAU support.

  • Recommend and create best practices for existing PM community.

  • Act as mentor for junior PMs.


  • Extensive work experience in Retail IT project management

  • Experienced in the successful implementation of end to end IT solutions.

  • Expert knowledge of best practices within the Systems Development Lifecycle, Release Management, Problem Management and other key processes

  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse (BI), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Retail POS, Cleinteling and further Retail systems

  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; ability to make decisions with limited information.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams to successfully deliver change.

  • Able to communicate at all levels.

  • Comfortable with senior stakeholder management in fast paced change environment.

  • Retail and/or other Estee Lauder Companies applications knowledge is a plus.

  • A University with degree in IS or related discipline or equivalent.
