Position Summary:

Provides product marketing direction and execution support to APAC markets. Tailors and coordinates Regional marketing strategies and initiatives to local needs, while protecting La Mer brand equity and ensuring execution excellence of the brand. Provide analysis and feedback to Global Marketing on new product initiatives. Position directly report to Regional Marketing Director. Manages one Marketing Intern.

Roles & Responsibilities

PRODUCT MARKETING (related to the categories in charge)

Product Strategy

  • Contributes to development of 3-year product marketing strategy for the Region

  • Develops product marketing business reviews and category analysis to help strategically guide the La Mer brand and to provide actionable steps to impact business; ensure information is shared among all cross-functional teams and Local, Regional, and Global levels.

  • Facilitates the integration of consumer insight and foresight into actionable strategic and tactical recommendations

  • Provides regular reporting to Management and Global/Regional teams.

Program Development and Launch Support

  • Works with Regional Consumer Engagement Manager to develop new product launch books for the Region in addition to Global guidelines to maximize regional-relevancy

  • Liaises with markets and Regional team to manage Markets’ local launch plans and executions, and annual marketing calendars to ensure alignment with Regional and Global directions and Regional launch synergies

  • Partner with Regional Design Center to manage visual merchandising and with Regional Corporate CRM to manage product-related CRM programs and ensures execution excellence in the Region

Pricing

  • Leads Region’s 3-year pricing cadence and supports Global Marketing to ensure adequate new product pricing guide line is set for new launches

  • Ensures the pricing guide line is properly executed in markets.

Forecast / Supply & Demand Planning

  • Works with Regional Demand Planning and Global Marketing Team to provide appropriate Forecast Guideline for new product launches and ensures the forecast guideline is implemented correctly in markets

  • Manages on-going forecasts for the Region such as sampling and collaterals to ensure Markets’ forecast sufficiency and proper usage

  • Monitor product supply logistics and QA issues to ensure smooth product to market and proper solution being implemented

Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyzes sell-in/through information, Beaute Research data, mix of business and market feedback on an ongoing basis with Regional Team to identify regional needs and opportunities

  • Prepares regular updates to relevant teams on the business trends, new launch trackings with actionable recommendations

  • Gathers market and consumer intelligence on the APAC market place, competitor information and new innovative product trends that are relevant to the brand

COMMUNICATION

  • Fosters regular communication of marketing-related topics with all relevant cross-functional teams: PR, Supply & Demand Planning, VM, Store Design, CRM, Online, Education

  • Fosters regular and transparent communication with Regional team members, Markets and Global Marketing.

Qualifications

Skills & Requirements

Education:

  • University Degree, preferably in Marketing related area

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years working experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the cosmetics industry, luxury retail experience and with regional exposure

Required languages

  • English

  • Mandarin/Korean/Japanese would be advantageous

Traveling expectations:

  • Participates selective Market visits

  • Prepares and attends Global/Regional business meetings

  • Participates in regular meetings and conference calls with Global Marketing and Markets to ensure a constant communication flow

Other:

  • Must demonstrate strategic thinking and strong problem-solving capabilities.

  • Strong alignment to the brand and foster brand spirit

  • Must have a persuasive communication style and be able to demonstrate strong communication skills with all levels of management of Marketing, Sales, and Education
