Play in regional strategic leadership position to provide strategic direction, lead a team of Application Maintenance/Technical Development to build & maintain the Application Maintenance/Technical Development capability to support the large numbers of legacy systems/applications for local or APAC region.
To define role of applications team with view to organize team to effectively and efficiently respond to the APAC business needs leveraging the Global Applications portfolio if it fits or create regional applications that reduce system TCO for APAC.
Create applications roadmap and lifecycle for each area of business and align with function leads such as Retail, CRM, Online, etc.
Take on responsibility of integrating all applications related teams to ensure a cohesive delivery of all applications and integration points in a configurable manner to support faster speed to market solutions delivery.
Develop the operations support and maintenance of applications vs applications projects.
Build team engagement and alignment with core team and extended team to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities that drive enhance regional delivery but local operations support.
Play a regional lead role in Application Maintenance and Development team and interact closely with all levels of management including global, regional, local IT leaders to ensure a high standard of service delivery and maintain the cost excellence/efficiency to internal customers
Drive & ensure all implementations are complied with global standard but also cater the local needs/requirements for implementation.
Plan, design and manage the Application Maintenance and Development Services (PS and TCC) teams in APAC region
Manage the transition of Production Support from current GIS team to dedicated Production Support team incl. preparation and managing of the needed knowledge transfer, defining and implementing support processes etc.
Increase productivity of the PS team also by further reducing the number of resources
Lead, drive & professionalize the Retail Support and Production Support activities in the region
Build and maintain strong relationships with management and staff. Assess, develop and mentor staff and the ability to grow and equip with new technology capability and provide recommendation/solutions on Applications.
BSc in Software Engineering or Computer Science with strong focus in software development.
English, Mandarin or other Asian languages
DevOps with ITIL and SDLC preferred
Application Development and Maintenance for al APAC Regional Applications that support across all areas with focus on Mobile First and Cloud First, leveraging on RPA, BPM and Workforce Automation in a RAP/RAD approach which brings incremental capabilities in a quick response mode. Leveraging vendor partners that bring agility and innovative problem solving with the best of breed solutions.
The role will have 1 to 3 direct reports and other matrix reports working in a virtual team that will help support integration efforts to other Enterprise Applications. The candidate will need to be able to be self-motivated and self-directed, manage virtual teams and have hands on development experience in the DevOps environment with experience of JIRA and exposure to ConnectALL or similar tools supporting DevOps.
Candidates with strong SDLC using Design Thinking couple with SDLC in an agile approach is highly preferred, driving object oriented approach to create micro services by partnering with Architecture teams in a platform and product delivery mode.
Knowledge of major applications such as SAP, Oracle HR, workflow and RPA and integration software such as snaplogic or similar in support of data ingestion and creation of data lakes and other data repository needs. Understanding of big data and the application of AI/Machine Learning to data analytics with appreciation of related infrastructure needs such as network and hybrid cloud implications. Ability to articulate end state applications roadmap against business priorities and rallying both internal and external partners to achieve execution of roadmap.
Knowledge of ITLT best practice within System Development lifecycle, release & deployment management, problem management, service catalog management and other key processes is preferable.
Knowledge of DevOps and related tools such as JIRA and ConnectALL with Design Thinking approach to platform and product lifecycle in support of Agile development and deppyment
Understanding TOGAF and ITAF and how applications strategy to support it
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; ability to make decisions with limited information.
Excellent English written and oral communication skills
Demonstrable experience in the preparation of project plans and estimates.
