We seek top talent for a critical role to provide leadership and support - both strategic and tactical - to the regional portfolio of retail information technology systems. This role will be responsible for leading and managing the regional IT Retail team, and to understand business strategies to help devise a corresponding technology strategy to achieve business goals. The candidate will also be responsible for researching and understanding relevant new technologies and competitive capabilities, and determine how those technologies can affect the current ELC business environment and ELC consumer - positively or negatively. The selected candidate will ensure clear communication and alignment between the global strategy and the local execution of retail activities.

The role will assist the APAC Retail IT Lead with strategic responsibility and operational oversight for delivering innovative, effective and sustainable solutions around the region. This multi-faceted position involves working closely with key business leaders, key areas of the IT organization, and the IT Business Relationship Management team. The person will report into the Regional Director, APAC Retail IT Lead

  • Provide leadership and management for retail technical team

  • Translate business strategy and requirements into the technical vision and strategy

  • Build strong relationships with business colleagues in retail, corporate marketing, eCommerce, and IT organizations to understand business strategies and demand to set proper expectations where warranted

  • Maintain a proactive awareness of corporate, regional, and store-based technology systems that make up the retail technology environment. This includes the design, support, and servicing of various retail applications, application support, and retail infrastructure categories

  • Lead and oversee various technology projects, directly or indirectly, and interact with various supplier partners for procurement and implementation of new company system initiatives. Overall responsibilities include successful project oversight, budget targets, and timely completion

  • Have accountability for project/program delivery in the consumer retail space for the region, ensuring the successful execution and delivery of projects that meet scope, timing, and cost goals in all markets

  • Assist with managing regional retail budget and ensuring project portfolio adheres to regional budget targets

  • Work closely with IT technical and support teams to manage overall operational stability of the retail applications supporting Estee Lauder Companies retail sales channels and driving continued focus on operational excellence and cost optimization

  • Partner with enterprise architects to identify and deliver technical innovations in support of emerging retail sales channel needs and progress these ideas from concepts to experiments to scaled models with focus on flexibility, reuse, and overarching extensibility

  • Partner with regional teams to enhance communication and alignment across global, regional, and local teams for projects from a budgetary, timing and delivery perspective

  • Provide input to Enterprise Architecture team to help develop a technology strategy and roadmap that addresses the desired business strategy of the corporation, globally, regionally, and locally

  • Stay abreast of current trends/technologies in retail/consumer space and be aware of what other best in class retailers and technology companies are doing around the globe

  • Review on-going capability enhancement requests and work with the GIS SBP organization and IT retail application teams to sequence the delivery of these appropriately in system roadmaps

  • Partner with the Vendor Management Office in the identification, evaluation, and selection of vendors to staff project delivery roles that meet delivery standards across quality, throughput, and budgetary/return-on-investment goals

  • Create retail application designs, ensures solution architecture is effective and stable

  • Works closely with Business Analyst at the scope and requirements definition phase of a project to ensure solution is effectively and efficiently designed; educate Business Analyst regarding value of effective use of architecture


- At least 15 years experience with retail or retail-related technology and processes

- At least 10 years experience in business processes, information systems, technology and partnering with internal customers at senior level

- Retail Store Systems (e.g., POS, Retail Accounting/Sales Audit, Labor Management, Inventory, Merchandising, Promotions, Mobile) design and implementation experience a must'

- Experience in a multi-channel or OmniChannel environment and knowledge of how to create a view of the consumer across retail sales channels

- Solid understanding of privacy and PCI regulations

- Experience gathering business needs and creating into workable outcomes

- Experience managing and being accountable for budgets

- Solid understanding of IT group operating model, including enterprise architecture, development lifecycle, tools, methods and processes

- Ability to think strategically and creatively, and communicate effectively in a fast-moving, rapidly growing environment

- Strong team-player who has excellent collaboration and relationship skills

- Experience with Oracle Retail Micros POS Solution preferred

Preferred Requirements:

- 15 or more years experience in a leadership role with direct reports and people management responsibilities, including career development, performance management, reward and recognition

- Experience at a senior-manager level delivering global IT capabilities for a multi-national/multi-brand company with annual budgetary responsibilities in excess of $10 million and teams larger than 10

- 10 or more years experience in business process and/or technology implementation

- Experience managing large projects - preferably have a PPM (Professional Project Management) certification

- Experience with implemention and support for CRM, loyalty, or clientelling solutions

- Prior experience and involvement with Digital technology and projects

- Prior IT experience implementing large scale vendor integration systems or other large program implementation
