With more than 25 Brands Estée Lauder Companies are one of the worldwide leaders in producing and distributing Skin Care Products, Make-Up, Perfumes and Hair Care Products. Our new distribution center in Galgenen will deliver to the travel retail market all over the world.

For this position we are looking for a motivated and experienced personality who will have the full functional and disciplinary responsibility for a certain section within our new distribution center in Galgenen.

The efficient execution of the associated core processes poses a special challenge to the incumbent due to the complex environment, having a 24/6 operation to lead and manage teams across 2 layers and multiple sections. The incumbent’s duties include responsibility for the following:

  • Being a role model for the Estée Lauder leadership principles and demonstrating active management of the individual targets of subordinates & team targets

  • Leading the further development of the team towards a continuous improvement culture of safety & compliance, performance & agility, efficiency and cost, service and quality

  • Initiating and/or contributing to the implementation of projects along the entire process chain in alignment with the counterpart(s) in the other DC

  • Planning of employee resources to ensure an efficient and timely execution

  • Recruiting of permanent and temporary staff and ensure appropriate training on the job

  • Reasonable compilation of order packages/waves to ensure a balanced utilization of the operation while respecting priorities at the same time

  • Monitoring of the timely execution of orders and introduce corrective measures in case of deviations

  • Ensuring compliance with packaging and shipping regulations (Dangerous-Goods compliance), Known Shipper conformity (aviation authorities) and Stock integrity (customs authorities)

  • Documentation of processes, change requests and the execution of User Acceptance Tests

  • Initiating and implementing improvement projects at the Galgenen DC

  • Searching, defining and proposing operational solutions to cover future requirements and execute approved activities/projects professionally

  • Driving innovation in concepts and solutions to strive for state of the art and cost-effective logistics processes in order to support growth and cost reduction developments as well as continuous improvements

  • Having a thorough understanding of the technical environment and be the first point of contact for the vendor’s technical department

  • Managing the commercial aspects of outside warehouses

  • Create statistics/reports/presentations and communicate results to the team and up to senior management


  • 5 years of work practice in logistics with progressive responsibility and multiple years of experience in leading people

  • Team building and coaching ability as well as a track record of organizational development

  • Ability to liaise and communicate proactively with people of all sorts of backgrounds and levels

  • Full professional proficiency in English and German

  • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite

  • Knowledge of SAP and WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)

  • High degree of flexibility and ability to work in a complex, fast paced environment with a need for driving change

  • Analytical and process-oriented thinking

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Understanding the application of lean management tools and process improvement techniques
