Description

Position Summary:

We are looking for the next BECCA beauty to join us for an exciting new role. This is a job for the beauty obsessed and will help bring the first-ever BECCA Glow Bar to life in the UK. The essence of BECCA can be summarized in our brand pillars: light, inclusivity and effortless beauty. We believe in shades for all, and a glow for all. As a Glow Guide, you will be responsible for ensuring high-touch and engaging customer service focused on bespoke glow rituals. Additionally, you will be held accountable for event execution, educating our consumer and driving sales, achieved through exceptional communication skills, trend spotting, social media upkeep and artistic abilities. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining the store environment and operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

Customer Experience, Service & Sales:

  • Provide welcoming, personal, professional service to all customers at all times

  • Discuss key service points to determine bespoke glow rituals

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, listen to the customer, ask questions to understand the consumer, investigate preferences and make the experience both bespoke and interactive

  • Advise customers on products to complete their glow wardrobe

  • Use social and digital to educate the consumer on light

  • Assist customers with product and services selection and information

  • Perform professional and appropriate makeup applications to achieve the look the customer desires

  • Inform customers of available services offered at the counter

  • Meet your individual responsibility for your appropriate contribution to the team’s goals in terms of service, sales and company objectives

  • Be responsible for booking demos and lessons

Customer Engagement & Social Content:

  • Aim to achieve a 100% customer capture rate

  • Keep up to date with social media, encourage social sharing and stay informed on new trends within the cosmetics industry

Team Work:

  • Develop good working relationships with colleagues

  • Be punctual and manage time on counter effectively

  • Actively participate in store theme days, events and new product launches

  • Actively participate in training sessions

  • Provide feedback to the management team on any up and coming trends or particular frequent customer requests

Maintaining Work Environment:

  • Maintain a clean and organised work area and ensure thorough clean at close of business

  • Maintain testers and hygiene stocks and communicate any low stocks and particularly out-of-stocks for saleable lines

  • Replace any broken or damaged products (authorised by a Manager)

  • Maintain counters; ensure they are correctly merchandised and fully stocked

  • Ensure correct storage in all stock holding areas to prevent damage to & loss of products

  • Inform store management of maintenance or health & safety issues which might lead to accidents

  • Ensure grooming guidelines are followed

  • Assist with inventory counts

Person Specification

Requirements:

  • Passionate about beauty, events, social media

  • Passionate about creating meaningful relationships and providing amazing customer experience with a desire to make an impact

  • Socially-driven & digitally savvy

  • An entrepreneurial & creative spirit

  • Previous experience in beauty desirable (can be retail or freelancing)

  • Empathetic and able to connect instantly with a range of people

Responsibilities:

  • Executing beauty services & retail events

  • Actively communicating the latest themes & seasonal trends, in addition to special events, services, and new product launches

  • Staying knowledgeable & well-versed on the latest beauty trends

  • Working with HQ to input on services and events

  • Creating social media content to promote store activity and drive consumers into store

  • Advising consumers on the products across brands and categories

  • Shaping “Instagrammable” moments for the consumer

  • Fostering energy and excitement in store

  • Achieving daily sales targets

  • Tracking KPIs to measure success

  • Carrying out transactions in store

  • Assisting with daily in stock and hygiene supplies replenishment

  • Managing Glow Bar services and experience

  • Driving social media engagement among consumers and fellow colleagues

  • Building and maintaining relationships with customers via their preferred method of communication be it email, phone or text

This is an exciting role to be part of the new Boots Reinvention Store and will be working with Smashbox and BECCA in a collaborative way.

Qualifications

  • While a qualification in make-up artistry/previous retail make up experience is preferred, we welcome applicants with amateur level experience who are able to demonstrate a high level of creative and technical expertise

  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide inspirational, authentic and personalized customer service

  • Ability to work retail hours including days, nights, weekends and special events in a fast-paced work environment

  • Previous experience with retail point-of-sale software

  • Applicants must be able to provide proof of right to live and work in the country if invited to attend for interview
