Clinique - Marketing Manager, Trade Marketing
The Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing Clinique brand retail marketing strategy for the UK & Ireland.
This includes 3 key focus areas:
Building Trade Marketing Plans with the Product Marketing and Sales team by National Account
Flagship Retail Program – from creation to execution
Gift With Purchase/ promotional calendar, forecasting and budget management
Events: in-store events
Oversee the Bonus Time master, COOP budgets and GWP budget
The purpose of the role is to position Clinique as a key partner towards our retailers in line with the brand objectives as well as drive brand distortion through strong retail event / gift strategy and execution. Working in partnership with our Product Marketing and Commercial Manger the Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for enhancing consumer experience and connection to the brand shaping and driving bespoke omni-channel retail marketing plans across the UK & Ireland, this to ensure strong commercial momentum.
You will provide the business with visibility on retail marketing plans and direction onto opportunities and risks. You will monitor marketing performance on retail events identifying best practices and influencing future plans, driving revenue growth through marketing. Fully responsible for the Event, Gift with Purchase and retail marketing budget
The role has 1 direct report and 1 indirect report however will work across many of the brand functions
Key roles and responsibilities, include:
Using insights into consumers’ profile and behaviours define a compelling marketing strategy for Clinique Flagship doors and increase consumers’ engagement and conversion to the Clinique brand
Shape and execute the retail marketing plan across UK & Ireland region.
Elevate the Brand Gift with Purchase program to attract a new consumer to the brand
Drive Clinique brand awareness across our key retailers positioning Clinique as a key partner to work with
Create marketing plans for individual top 10 doors (incl. Selfridges, Harrods and Brown Thomas)
Analytics: conduct competitors audits and benchmarking, trend tracking to identify risks and opportunities and shape retail marketing plans accordingly
Report on data and industry trends relating to retail categories
Set up best practice and reporting system in order to provide the business with a consolidated view of the retail marketing plans efficiencies and effectiveness
Ensure smooth adaptation and integration of globally created content into Clinique marketing plans with key retailers.
Delivers a fully integrated plan ensuring strong coordination and alignment with the online team
Act as the Point of contact for Retail marketing direction working with key content stakeholders (Sales, Education, VM PR & Comms, CRM, Social…)
Track event and Gift performance per door to create a framework highlighting best practices
Define and drive Clinique retailers’ exclusive programs as well the retailer programs, including special events
Responsible to elevate and drive the overall in-store retail experience to deliver on business objective.
Direct liaison with Clinique Global Teams on strategy and product forecasting
Manage, motivate and develop the team
Previous experience working as a Retail/ Trade Marketing Manager building and executing plans
Great knowledge of the retail landscape in the UK and trends that are shaping the market
Strong commercial outlook and an ability to drive revenue growth through trade marketing activities.
Strong leadership experience
Hands on and with good attention to details
Must be a self-starter, proactive, flexible and able to handle multitude of projects at one time
Highly motivated and passionate about retail marketing.
Solid understanding of analytics and ability to drive relevant consumer insights that could lead to winning strategies at the point of sales
Reporting and ownership of budget
Experience of global brands an advantage
