This role has two responsibility streams:
Global P&L – working with regions and Corporate Finance to provide a consolidated view of brand performance. Liaising with Regional colleagues to ensure awareness of key market performance, plus drivers of risk and opportunity.
FP&A for GSE – Responsibility for budgeting, estimating and ensuring accurate spend within the Head Office functions. Working closely with Global cost center managers to ensure spend is reasonable, to plan, and supports strategic initiatives.
Together with the Global Finance Director, this role manages the reporting needs of the finance
department – analyzing retail sales and net sales performance, P&L estimates, capital spend etc. The successful applicant will be responsible for completion of the monthly reporting packages and quarterly investor relations reports which are shared with Brand and Corporate Management. Through these various reporting responsibilities, the candidate should ensure accuracy and completeness, as well as identifying opportunities and pro-actively investigating irregular results.
This role is fundamental in the preparation of the fiscal budget and ongoing estimate process (both at a GSE and global level). The position regularly communicates with Global brand colleagues, Regional finance and Corporate finance, providing guidance and support where required.
Month-end & estimate process:
Completion of monthly GSE Rebill process, reviewing departmental expenses to ensure accuracy and on target.
PO/rebill approvals - Working with NY GSE finance & various departments/regions to authorize cross charges, ensuring these are correctly recording within the P&L.
Ensure strict adherence to corporate accounting and financial policies. Guarantee the accurate presentation of all financial results in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ensure proper financial controls are in place and are effective, per Sarbanes-Oxley.
Compile the GSE spend estimate, working with cost center managers to ensure accurate phasing of committed spend.
Assist in the consolidation of the regional estimate, understanding where and why movements have occurred
Manage the variance analysis of actual results against budgets/estimates including departmental deviations. Extract data from various sources, compile, analyze and present findings with the ability to provide detailed explanations to various levels of management.
Reviewing estimate accuracy at both regional and global levels, understanding drivers of variances
Managing the completing of the monthly reporting packages, working with regions and other Global departments for their input
SMAP (Selling, Marketing, Advertising and Promotion) analysis
Door and channel distribution
Involved in the annual budget cycle with regional finance teams, corporate finance and Global Brand
Responsible for the production and issuing of budget guidelines
Co-ordination and consolidating regional submissions to build the Long-Range plan and complete Corporate budget pack.
Retail Sales reporting:
Retail sales database maintenance with continual importing of monthly market templates.
Follow up with markets/regions for discrepancies or missing info within the report.
Monthly issuance of reports to senior brand management
Manage monthly updates of door calendarization schedule, based on information from retail sales database process,
Compiles data for Investor Relations reporting including providing accurate door count by region/channel, data downloads for sales/SKU info, country count, forecast information. Ensure propriety of data and reconcile discrepancies.
Analyze global capital reports annually/monthly as estimates are submitted. Works with regions to understand variances from plan/estimates and works to resolve discrepancies. Reports findings to Fixed Assets dept. Oversees all unbudgeted Global Capital Spending Requests.
Fully qualified accountant, with extensive industry experience (to include month closing, reporting, analysis, budget setting)
Strong PC skills including SAP, CPM, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and other internal systems.
Well organized with strong interpersonal skills and excellent team player.
Minimum Education & Experience : University Degree and extensive related experience
