La Mer UK has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Marketing Assistant Manager to join the team in London.

Reporting to the Digital Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the paid social media, paid content and digital marketing strategy and implementing it across local channels, recruiting new consumers, optimising retention and driving sales through these digital channels.

The Digital Marketing Assistant Manager will be an integral member of the digital team and wider marketing team, working closely with Ecommerce, Communications and Education. The successful candidate will be experienced in paid social, programmatic and display and have an extensive understanding of platforms and biddable tools: Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Google.


Paid Media

  • Work with the Digital Manager and Online Manager to create best in class paid social and display ads, ensuring alignment both online and instore in order to deliver on the La Mer omnichannel strategy;

  • Support the Digital Manager with Media Agency monthly briefings and help define the digital activity schedule to support launch and ongoing paid social initiatives;

  • Own paid social ads creation, approval and monitoring;

  • Create pre, mid and post campaign analysis and provide monetary direction between ad formats and platforms, ensuring that the budget is optimised and KPIs are met;

  • Work with external agencies and provide inspiration, recommendation and guidance across paid social activities;

  • Ensure that all paid campaigns elements move forward on a timely basis with external agencies, publishers, internal designers and internal teams (including asset deliveries, landing pages briefings, legal approvals, ads approvals, artwork proofing, QA testing ect.;

  • Work with the Corporate Consumer Engagement team to drive optimisation and industry firsts;


  • Lead and strive to deliver innovation within social and digital channels by developing first-to-market, scalable opportunities with an eye for efficiency and growth;


  • Leverage Google Analytics, Social Bakers, Facebook Native insights and agency reports to provide recommendations to adjust campaigns as necessary;

  • Work with the CRM coordinator and utilise consumers insights to inform audience creation and best targeting strategies;

  • Drive the step change to a data driven approach to digital by creating weekly/monthly/ad hoc reports on the performance of digital marketing programs, reviewing results by tactic to proactively recognising and optimising interactions with audience as necessary;

  • Develop best practices based on results, industry trends, and competitive audits;

  • Gather insights from monitoring and analytics to define next-generation digital marketing opportunities;

  • Use knowledge gained through analysis to inform forecasts, budgets and digital marketing direction;

  • Track competitors results and contribute to the competitive analysis report, working alongside the Digital Manager and the Product Manager to define best practices within the Digital Marketing field including key competitors and brands in and out of the beauty industry;

  • Explore, identify and stay abreast of new social opportunities/channels/innovations/competitors in order to proactively direct current and future opportunities

Budget Management

  • Utilise data learns to drive budget efficiency, working alongside the Digital Manager and the External Media agency in optimising paid social content in a goal to lower our CPM whilst increasing reach and conversion;

  • Lead on the relationship with the Media Agency, ensuring that we are utilising the most cost-efficient ad formats and constantly challenging current practice in a goal to continuously improve our ROAS;

  • Work with the Social Media assistant to ensure that purchase orders and invoices are raised and paid timely


  • Have exceptional written English copy writing skills

  • Have an extensive understanding of the owned, bought and earned digital media ecosystem

  • Paid media planning and implementation experience

  • Be collaborative and challenges for innovation, both with platform partners and third parties

  • Be a strategic and analytical thinker that can interpret numbers and data into actionable insights and learnings

  • Naturally curious with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn, enthusiasm is a must

  • Have the ability to interpret, prioritise and deliver actions with a sharp attention to detail

  • Have experience in a relevant industry, though not necessarily within beauty

  • Be comfortable working with people at all levels of the organisation and able to develop strong working relationships across the brand/corporation

  • Be reliable, committed and willing to go above and beyond if the brand requires

  • Understanding and passion for the luxury and beauty industries
