La Mer UK has an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Assistant Manager to join the team in London.

Reporting to the Digital Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the social media organic and content strategy and implementing it across local channels.

The Social Media Assistant Manager will be an integral member of the digital team and wider marketing team, working closely with Ecommerce, Communications and Education. The successful candidate will have a passion for social media and content marketing and an extended knowledge of the social media landscape – including content formats, social listening and reporting tools, planning and implementation of social first campaigns and an understanding of the latest technologies impacting key platforms.

Responsibilities

Content Planning

  • Own the content calendars for the local social channels (Instagram, Facebook and YouTube), working alongside the Digital Manager to ensure key launches and marketing priorities are supported and wider business objectives are met

  • Collaborate with the global team and local stakeholder to align calendar and content strategies in order to execute 360, cross-departmental campaigns

  • Work with retail partners on social media strategies to drive joint partnership, securing launch and always on visibility

  • Asset management across local and global content, ensuring optimal mix to drive relevancy and engagement and brand equity

  • Coordination and alignment with Communications on content optimisation and flighting for influencer marketing campaigns

  • Utilise past results learnings and insights to shape the content strategy

Localisation

  • Ensure that social media assets and copy is localised for each channel (Facebook, Instagram and YouTube) in order to develop the UK’s brand presence, drive channel growth, maintain strong engagement and deliver against wider business KPIs

  • Manage the external copywriter, ensuring that all content and campaign messages are localised to be regionally relevant whilst following the brand tone of voice and guidelines

  • Work with the Digital Studios and external agencies to localise brand assets

Community Management

  • Work with the social media assistant to monitor social channels. Fully responsible in ensuring that questions, questions, comments, inquiries and potential issues are escalated to Digital Manager/ Legal/ Global department as appropriate, in a timely manner.

  • Take a 24/7 approach to social community management, planning social care coverage, response and crisis management on social, working closely with Global, PR and customer services;

  • Leverage new and existing relationships that the PR team foster with social influencers by sharing their content across brand channels;

  • Lead Digital contact for the Experts and Field team, lead Experts as Social Ambassadors with Education Manager

Social Listening

  • Identify patterns & trends and potential issues in consumer comments. To include, but not limited to the following:

  • Product & distribution enquiries

  • New ideas for product development

  • Non-UK queries to appropriate market

  • Frequently asked questions

  • Trending topics/concerns/sensitivities

  • User generated content to marketing/creative

  • Work with CRM coordinator to cascade in most effective manner to wider team to drive strategy and action

Publishing

  • Understand platform nuances and work with the Social Media Assistant to ensure that we consistently follow a test and learn approach in publishing, in a goal to increase owned media performance

Live Publishing

  • Organise logistics around live publishing across multiple platforms, and be able to live publish reactively in a and fast paced environment

  • Drive brand equity and local relevancy by amplifying local moments via live publishing, and be able to produce content that follows best practices within really tight time-frames in order amplify the conversation as it happen

Content Creation

  • Support Digital Manager in the concepting and creation of local content, bespoke to the UK market

  • Collaborate with the digital studio, freelance content creators and influencers to product local content that meets both the global marketing briefs and the needs of our local audience

Innovation

  • Stay on the top of and proactively share upcoming trends in social media and content marketing, and contribute to the platform’s strategy evolution

  • Embrace a test and learn attitude to innovation, working reactively based on results and embracing change when necessary

Reporting

  • Own the relationship between La Mer UK and third-party tools (social bakers, opal) associated with planning, executing, tracking and analysing owned and earned social media campaigns, ensuring that we make the most out of the platforms and optimise accordingly

  • Create new social reporting templates (weekly, monthly, ad hoc) ensuring that we monitor the performance of social media marketing programs and proactively optimise campaigns based on learnings

  • Support the Digital Manager in the strategic planning of upcoming campaign based on results, industry trends and competitive results

Budget Management

  • Utilise data learns to drive budget efficiency, working alongside the Digital Manager and the digital studio/creative to ensure that all content created is optimise to drive positive engagement and conversion

  • Work with the Social Media assistant to ensure that purchase orders and invoices are raised and paid timely

Qualifications

  • Exceptional written English copy writing skills

  • Understanding of the owned, bought and earned digital media ecosystem

  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of all Western social media platforms. an understanding of Asian social platforms is a plus

  • Naturally curious with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn, enthusiasm is a must

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, able to juggle multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a superb eye for detail

  • Demonstrate both a creative and commercial mind-set

  • Have excellent copywriting skills and an eye for visuals

  • Have experience in a relevant industry, though not necessarily within beauty

  • Be comfortable working with people at all levels of the organisation and able to develop strong working relationships across the brand/corporation

  • Be reliable, committed and willing to go above and beyond if the brand requires

  • Understanding and passion for the luxury and beauty industries
