This position leads GLAMGLOW product development projects from beginning to end, with a special focus on complex formula centric projects. Responsible for conceptualization and implementation of new and old products. Deliver sexy, disruptive, fun products and innovations that are true to the GLAMGLOW DNA.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS
Support the innovation efforts associated with the assigned key leadership categories for the Brand.
Provides direction for the development of quality products that meet the Brand strategy and ensure product launches are launched on time.
Directs and oversees R&D in the detailed development of new and reformulated products and travels to plants and suppliers to give on-site approvals, as needed.
Conceptualization, initiation, development, evaluation and follow through of all new product launches.
Maintain a high degree of competitor knowledge
Evaluates all product submissions and establishment of standards from lab through production.
Evaluate reformulations and update production standards.
Attend trade shows, conferences, as needed.
Demonstrated leadership ability and deep understanding of cross-functional product development teams.

Drive assigned calendarized launches in all stages from concept to on-counter, reporting to Executive Director
Drive creation of new product concepts that fit with need-gaps in the line or new business opportunities.
Manage the evaluation of submissions on a timely basis and provide direction to the Lab on next steps/ redirects/ trouble-shoot issues.
Create product fact sheets/ profiles to flesh out all development needs including product technologies, positioning and claims. Must have a firm grasp of skincare technology and ability to transform complex science into consumer friendly language.
Manage and drive all testing needs to support product launches with robust and innovative claims (inclusive of sensory, clinical and biological testing).
Be a team player with Marketing, Packaging and R&D aiding in each step of the development process.
Monitor trends both inside the beauty industry, and outside the beauty industry. Attend industry seminars and report on trends, technologies, new ingredients, as needed.
Travel to Estee Lauder and supplier plants for on-site approvals as needed.
Maintain weekly status report and keep Executive Director informed of project details.
Dedicate specified amount of time for exploratory development.
Close collaboration with the following departments:
Actively participate in meetings as needed
Brainstorm strong meaningful copy with breakthrough messaging ensure alignment on claims & positioning
Develop Product Profile to support Marketing clarity on aligned/ position / technologies, claims etc.
Provide marketing a constant and detailed communication on changes/ updates to a product (formula cost, timing etc.).
Participate in Brainstorming sessions with creative input to educational events as needed.
Lead external formula briefs with R&D input
Assist in directing bench work (e.g. formula direction)
Communicate all recommended textural changes, ingredient/ technology updates etc. on formula development on a timely basis.
Initiate product test with Sensory & Clinicals to create a robust, innovative testing plan with detailed follow-through. Analyze results and create claims opportunities for the brand.
When developing with TPMs, work with team coordinator to request any bulk needed for in house testing or sampling (GRAND SAMPLING CHART).
- Work with together with ED PD and Director of Package direction in regards to optimal formula evacuation / delivery.
- Trouble-shoot with ED PD and Director of Package potential packaging issues & brainstorm resolution.

8 years of related experience
Bachelors’ Degree or Equivalent
Position requires experience in product development in skin care and or color.
Superior product evaluation skills.
Must possess strong creative skills, be a strong contributor to "idea generation" of new products and have a persuasive communication style.
Must possess clear and concise business writing skills. Be able to convey ideas in a concise and clear way.
Must be able to direct and lead the complete product development cycle with all involved disciplines.
Working knowledge of key computer programs is required.
Must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills with R&D personnel, as well as all levels of management of Marketing, Sales, and Education, Packaging, Creative, P.R. and Copy teams.
Must demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities. Must be able to anticipate and mitigate risks/issues
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management.
Strong organization and planning / time management skills.
