Description

With growing needs for brands testing,the position is responsible for maintaining all cell cultures for other scientists and for the ordering of supplies for the laboratory. This position will also be responsible for the day to day management and maintenance of the cell culture lab. This scientist will be responsible for biological assays and anti-oxidant testing on both active materials and on full formulas for all brands. The Associate Scientist is responsible for applying various biological techniques for research purposes. The Associate Scientist is also responsible for assisting in the development of new testing protocols aimed to support all brands.

The Associate Scientist will also be responsible for performing biomechanical studies on cells.

  • Prepare and maintain cell cultures in partnership with Scientists for brand testing 40%

  • Conduct biological assays such as anti-oxidant testing on both active materials and on full formulas which will be used by brands for in-vitro claims 30%

  • Maintenance of general laboratory supply inventory (ordering, stocking, CO2, Liquid nitrogen, hood cleaning) 20%

  • Assist in the development of new testing protocols 10%

Qualifications

B.S. Biology/Biochemistry

Experience in cell culture, cell maintenance, cell preparation: including if possible biomechanical testing on cells

Knowledge/experience in cell culture laboratory management (CO2, Liquid nitrogen, incubators, consumable supply inventory)

Experience with biological assays, i.e Randox anti-oxidant testing and with anti-oxidant testing of full formulations
