The Director of Finance, R&D and Innovation is a dedicated financial resource for Global R&D, Packaging and Corporate Innovation. The role is responsible and accountable for planning and analyzing operating budgets and capital spend and performing analytics supporting strategic development. In addition, the position actively partners with the brands and the function on developing the annual Shared Service allocation. Overall responsibilities include preparation of the budgets and forecasts, analytics and reporting on spend, capital investment management and headcount tracking. The ideal candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, have strong customer service skills and have the ability to provide ad-hoc analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage operating budgets, forecasts with leadership team

  • Calculate and communicate allocation charges to brands including providing transparency on supporting resources and man-hours

  • Analyze and report on key drivers of variances

  • Provide cost center reporting and commentary highlights on a monthly basis

  • Manage capital spending and capital projects start to finish

  • Lead the month-end closing process, including preparation of journal entries

  • Ensure appropriate use of purchase orders including approval of SRM shopping carts

  • Partner with HR in headcount tracking including understanding impact of open roles

  • Monthly reporting of product testing to R&D management and brands

  • Ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • 8 years of related experience

  • Broad understanding of the annual budget and estimate process

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines and to multitask

  • Proven problem solving capabilities, strong communication, presentation skills

  • Ability to explain objectives, goals and variances to both financial and non-financial management

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Expert in advanced Excel, strong data management and knowledge of financial systems (SAP, CPM, HANA), working knowledge of analytic software (Tableau, ClickView
