PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs existing electrical and electronic systems and components.

  • Installs equipment and systems both in electrical/electronics, including PC boards, AC & DC motor speed controllers, PLC’s, and I/O boards.

  • Installs and repairs electrical wiring and conduit as per work orders and company standards.

  • Adheres to National Electric code procedures on all assignments. Follows all safety procedures and practices necessary to operate and maintain electronic/electrical systems.

  • Participates in several phases of training not limited to on-the-job training, vendor based training, self-paced technical training (TPC) and all necessary OSHA and EHS training necessary to perform current and future work assignments.

  • Prepares recommendations for materials, hardware and tools, as needed.

  • Maintain daily logs and complete work orders using MP2.

  • Communicates with other departments, personnel, vendors and contractors relating to specific assignments.

  • Works on live circuits including high voltage 480 VAC, 277 VAC, 208 VAC and 120 VAC, as well as lower voltages, relating to the electronic equipment.

  • Performs critical duties during facility emergency situations.

  • Must be able to adjust workweek to accommodate manpower shortages due to vacation and other scheduled events.

  • Performs other duties as assigned and required.

MACHINES /INSTRUMENTS USED:

  1. Digital Multi-meter

  2. Hand tools

  3. Calibration instruments

  4. Power Tools as required

Qualifications

  1. High school graduate or trade school equivalent.

  2. Three to five years Electronic experience.

  3. One to three years mechanical experience preferred

  4. Working knowledge of National Electric code.

  5. MP2 CMMS documentation software

  6. Windows based support applications

  7. Must be able to work without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of self and others.

  8. Ability to read blueprints and develop simple schematics.

  9. Three to six months on-the-job training to become familiar with procedures.

  10. Must have and maintain a good attendance and lateness record.
