Responsible for the development and execution of cost/risk initiatives, requalification, production transfers and assistance as relate primarily to raw materials and formulation. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting deep research within the assigned technical areas in order to resolve issues with raw material supply.
In depth knowledge of cosmetic formulation (skincare and makeup preferred) and raw materials within the cosmetic/beauty industry.
Provide the technical leadership on the assigned projects, able to anticipate issues & develop plans to address.
Lead projects on identifying and qualifying alternate sources of raw materials as well as risk evaluation and mitigation.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external resources.
Being a quick learner to explore in new technical fields/technology.
Show can-do attitude and willing to deal with some urgent tasks.
Participate project meetings and work with the project manager and team to assure the completion of projects on time within budget and within scope.
Trains and directs technicians or temporary help and entry level associate scientists in laboratory procedures.
Interfaces with all R&D departments, QA, Technical Services, and Manufacturing
-Minimum BA/BS in a scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, Engineering), MS preferred
