Lead the execution and creation of all product concepts to support the innovation pipeline
Spearhead the development of the product profile process which is a critical document that informs the creation of all other support materials. Work closely with R&D to ensure it is accurate and exceptionally technical.
Actively lead the bi-weekly status with the R&D team to ensure all formula development is on track. Consistently maintain an updated program tracker for all projects.
Manage the claims testing process by creating a desired claims document, coordinating meetings with the claims team and legal, tracking changes and issuing a re-cap, reviewing the testing plan and lastly ensuring claims reports are received in a timely manner to support copy needs
Present new concepts and programs during the Regional Roundtable meetings
Interact regularly with R&D, outside vendors and PD team members.
Manage new development process within the Innovation Portal, working closely with Global Marketing and R&D.
Collaborate with PD VP to evaluate new submissions against prototype or standard for all formula aesthetics. Manage the redirect process with R&D to ensure all formula modifications are conveyed clearly and precisely.
Maintain an updated log of all submissions received and their status.
Oversee submissions for Lab, Pilot and Production to ensure proper coding and organization
Manage day-to-day maintenance of development (reestablishment of standards, labeling submissions, etc) and assists in development of new programs, from concept to launch.
Partner with PD team in fleshing out product ideas concepts and writing product profiles.
Manage the use-up rate process partnering with R&D and Education.
Act as a resource within the PD community for innovation and development as it pertains to the men’s category.
Keep abreast of competitive product launches and new technologies.
Coordination of internal panel tests, track and tally test results and present to team.
Help source and identify new concepts, ingredients and product forms. Obtain research for new product ideas (visual and literal).
Assist in preliminary literature and competitive research for product presentations, to assist in identifying visual aids. Assist department in making presentation boards.
Attend Industry Forums when available in order to learn more on research and development in skincare.
Track internet beauty blog sites and pick up on trends to keep abreast of the marketplace activity.
Create a Competitive Ad resource (binder or electronic) for Men’s category launches.
Create and update competitive resources – Category Review Charts and Product Architecture Analysis
Create a Men’s Product Alert presentation featuring new launches, competitive launch events and market trends.
Perform monthly store visits to keep abreast of new launches, innovative marketing and merchandising tactics; report findings to team.
Maintain organized bins and filing system for competitive products.
3 years’ experience within a beauty industry product development environment.
Strong creative and analytical skills
Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication (verbal, written) skills
Proficient in Microsoft applications
Proficient in obtaining data through Mintel, NPD, etc
