About the Role

The Assistant Manager, will be responsible for managing and driving (online) sales for Clinique across a portfolio of department store accounts, including Nordstrom, Belk, Sephora, Lord & Taylor, as well as assist our Canada affiliate.

Reporting to the Director of, this role will also contribute and participate in brands’ retail strategy and planning meetings, exploring and leading seasonal digital marketing program opportunities, leading up marketing support for basic business, product launches, promotions, and strategic digital initiatives. This role will coordinate all aspects of Clinique retailer partner brand boutique refreshes and development to ensure deadline and goals have been successfully accomplished. Role will work closely with NA brand Marketing and Creative Services to achieve overall project objectives and deliver assets in a timely fashion.


  • Create monthly Retailer Refresh and Side by Side Calendars and execute to those calendars.

  • Maintain and distribute changes to Retailer Refresh Calendars to track and keep boutiques updated and fresh.

  • Create a best in class brand boutique experience with educational and conversion driven assets: product description & images, educational content and videos.

  • Monitor business to achieve fiscal sales goals, tracking individual accounts monthly sales targets and securing best initiatives as needed to meet sales and brand goals (eg market share gains, increased equity and brand differentiation, etc).

  • Identify opportunities to build business and drive business to achieve sales and brand goals, unique to beauty category

  • Work with field team to support and manage the creation and execution of all promotional activities and merchandising strategy (launches and re-promotes).

  • Liaise with retailer and Brand Field team to strategize participation in promotional activity, merchandising strategy, in store program adaptation, seasonal planning, etc.

  • Host monthly/weekly calls with each retailer to confirm Product Launch Worksheet details and boutique site updates and sample shipments as well as issue detailed recaps.

  • Secure samples for retailer programs and work thru NA Marketing and Account Executives, and Online Team to source and ship samples in a timely manner, kitting/bundling as necessary.

  • Manage implementation and QA of promotion plans for retail partners and measurement of online marketing/promotion success

  • Escalate issues or enhancements and suggest partner site improvements to team and brand partners

  • Work with retail partners to obtain analytics on retailer programs as well as overall sales goals/strategies.


  • Position requires minimum of 4 years experience in the retailer, online marketing or ecommerce area. College degree required.

  • Working knowledge of retail business acumen and ecommerce best practices

  • Strategic thinker with an ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and influence across groups.

  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task; Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; Strong organizational skills; Pro-active problem solving abilities.

  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong business writing skills, including powerpoint.

  • Aptitude for working with Internet tools (i.e. web-based reports, databases and various multimedia technologies).

  • Experience in online marketing and merchandising.

  • Understanding of website metrics, data analysis, and reporting tools.
