The Associate, Sustainability will play an integral part in supporting the day-to-day work and the overall growth of the Global Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability team. This role will be part of a larger team focused on delivering on enterprise-wide Sustainability projects and KPIs.
Support the Sustainability team on a range of research spanning across all aspects of sustainability including but not limited to area-specific research (e.g. climate, energy, biodiversity, packaging, green chemistry), general competitive landscape, conferences and partnerships in the sustainability space.
Support the team on developing and documenting standard operating procedures to help the team be more efficient as well as to capture institutional knowledge necessary for training new employees and transitioning team members. This can include processing budget requests, updating current procedures, documenting new procedures.
Populate sustainability databases such as CDP, DJSI etc. Analyze results and recommend areas for improvement.
Help with data management and analysis on Excel and shared server to be included in presentations and to help with decision making.
Assist with developing and editing presentations on PowerPoint for various meetings.
Conduct research of various databases and news feeds, perform analysis and prepare reports on sustainability emerging issues.
Participate on teams that manage key workstreams such as greenhouse gas emissions, green chemistry, ESG reporting / ranking, sustainable packaging, and responsible sourcing.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree a plus
2 years of relevant professional experience from a top-tier consulting firm, NGO working with business, or a CSR/sustainability, corporate affairs, or similar role in the private sector
Experience working in a multi-branded retail company or other industry with high-profile consumer brands a plus
Excellent project management skills and experience working on multiple, disparate projects simultaneously
Well-developed interpersonal skills for high-level interaction with other functions and brands.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to conduct extensive research, analyze, synthesize and make meaning of data.
Fluent in both written and conversational English; fluency in a second language an advantage
High ethical standards and commitment to core values of leadership, respect, and integrity.
High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
