Description

The individual is required to work with Corporate functions – Global R&D and Global QA – to ensure robust SOPs and Work Instructions are in place to ensure complaint artwork management systems. They are adept at working with large data sets to find opportunities for workforce planning and efficiency through statistical model development to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. They have a proven record of discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.

The process scope includes:

  • Drive development and execution of key strategic data driven initiatives across R&D and product labeling data functions. This includes improving operational efficiency across our business functional teams, supporting our leadership teams, brand package development, research and development, Marketing, GBSC, and PDM with insights gained from analyzing external as well as internal company data.

  • Requirements for purchasing, install and qualification of new software and introduction across all brands, regions and functions.

  • Maintenance and calibration of existing software systems to ensure optimal performance.

  • Governance of process, access and documentation to ensure compliance.

The geographic scope is Global and includes all R&D Operations facilities and Laboratories at New York City (USA), Melville (USA), Blaine (USA), Shanghai (China), Toronto (Canada).

  1. Responsible for managing all Product Labeling Software - Instruments and Equipment

a. Individual is responsible for technical management of Labeling Artwork data management systems used globally as well as equipment software. This would include: Teamcenter, EyeC, and Wedia, and could extend to RDS and other Cornerstone systems. This responsibility would include working with individual artwork labeling vendors, and drafting – and maintaining – current compliant system documentation, compliant training procedures and documentation.

b. Provide leadership to ensure that all initiatives are appropriately and effectively managed, documented and monitored for optimum efficiency and effective roll out.

c. Coordinate all future system rollouts and new system upgrades.

d. Coordinate with Artwork Management and Production supervisors to conduct periodic verification of computerized systems throughout R&D to ensure that systems are current and continue to function appropriately for current usage in Estée Lauder Companies globally.

e. Coordinate, execute and document all SYSTEM USER VERIFICATIONS for data integrity and compliance requirements. This would include an effective software license management for specialized computer software specific to R&D and product labeling.

f. Ensure all GXP applicable systems have CSV (Computer System Validation) documentation and procedures in place

g. Ensure all R&D systems have appropriate back up procedures

i. Corporate IT has procedure are in-place for IT managed systems (e.g. Teamcenter)

ii. R&D-wide stand-alone computerized system backup procedures are in-place and periodically tested for non-networked systems.

h. Works closely with the business stakeholders on business requirements, manage technical feasibility analysis, and financial analysis of proposed process and technical solutions.

  1. Leads and manages the effective execution and implementation of computerized projects in the Packaging artwork and R&D lab space.

a. Ensure production releases meet business expectations and adhere to standards.

b. Strong knowledge of Program Management, Project Management, Agile and SDLC/Release management processes.

c. Effective communication with business stakeholders and project stakeholders.

  1. Ensures adherence to SDLC, FDA Validation, CFR 21 Part 11 and Change Control management processes requiring a detail knowledge of the R&D Quality Systems inclusive of Change Control, CAPAs and Deviation procedures.

  2. Develop and implement statistical models that provide value added feedback to senior management to better understand organizational needs and assist in workforce planning.

a. Build statistical models to predict workforce demand for special projects and new brands onboarding efforts.

b. Provide ongoing business analysis to determine opportunities for efficiencies and profitability improvements.

c. Develop a framework to benchmark the efficiency of internal R&D Operations against outside vendor capabilities.

d. Benchmark, analyze, report, and make recommendations for the improvement of the current artwork management and production processes.

e. Establish and monitor meaningful metrics to track operational and leadership effectiveness. This includes planning, reporting, and artwork workflow process optimization.

f. Work with senior leadership to develop statistical guidelines for personnel evaluations and talent development.

g. Build and continuously develop the Artwork Management Workflow Dashboard.

h. Partner with Cornerstone and Teamcenter data architects on future product releases to ensure data integrity and accessibility.

i. Provide sound business advice to senior management based on data and statistics

j. Collaborate with other business functional teams to measure, report on, and optimize processes within the company to ultimately maintain operational excellence.

k. Collect and analyze external and internal company data and build actionable visualizations/reports that drive decisions.

l. Partner with senior leadership to identify opportunities to build ELC’s data and analytics capabilities.

Qualifications

College graduate - BS 10 10%

●Experience in staff management with proven ability to manage and collaborate in a multi-location, multi-vendor environment with an emphasis on process documentation and training.

●Experienced in R&D processes and systems in a Fortune 500 CPG company.

●Experienced in writing SOPS and Work Instructions and other Quality System Documents.

●Knowledge of GXP (Good Clinical/Manufacturing/Documentation practices)

●Knowledge of FDA Validation and CFR 21 Part 11

●Knowledge of PLM applications and SAP ERP a plus

●Experience in developing strategic reports and metrics for Senior Leadership
