The Director of Digital Marketing will be responsible for the digital strategy for La Mer North America, including strategy, innovation and implementation of Owned and Paid activities that will drive awareness and deepen brand engagement, recruitment and loyalty. With a special focus on attracting a new and younger consumer, the director will oversee the full funnel paid media strategy and campaigns launched by the brand to drive awareness and conversion: including Display, Paid Social, Search. They will be responsible for managing the media agencies and creating reports for optimizations of campaigns in flight to best drive the US business.

Key Responsibilities:


  • With the Vice President, Consumer Marketing, the Director with develop the NA 360 Digital Strategy for the brand, including paid social, display, video, search and email marketing. Report back real-time learnings for optimizations.

  • Responsible for driving brand and non-brand search strategy in North America by collaborating with global marketing and e-commerce to drive synergy

  • Partner with E-commerce and Trade Marketing to drive CRM email strategy with retailer online partners – develop assets, implement concepts and report results

  • Aligns NA plans with Global digital strategy and Content alignment calendar and US marketing calendars

  • Coordinates all functional elements of native media programs: photo shoots, product orders, native content

  • Coordinates all content to be reviewed with agencies/media partners from all La Mer departments

  • Develops integrated, holistic media strategies for brand campaigns and Tier A brand activations

Analytics and Media Effectiveness

  • Works directly with media agencies for best in class execution reporting. Partners on segmentation strategy and mid-flight optimizations

  • Recap reporting post flight on partnerships to be rolled into comprehensive monthly/seasonal report

  • Partners with Global Digital marketing on post-campaign recaps reporting what worked and what didn’t

  • Weekly reports to NA teams on key KPI’s of campaigns in flight

Digital Innovation

  • Closely partner with Global Digital on forward-thinking technology strategy and proof of concept; advocate for pilots in NA

  • Maintain department digital file for campaigns, trends and new technology

  • Attend digital industry events to capture new trends in the digital space


  • 8 years related experience in digital marketing

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively

  • Strong communication and relationship management skills

  • Ability to pull data from various resources and translate it into trends, actionable plans, and reporting templates

  • Exceptional analytical skills

  • Proficiency in all social platforms including Facebook/Instagram, Google/YouTube, Snapchat, Weibo, WeChat and passion for emerging platforms

  • Proficiency in major search engines and their user interfaces including Google AdWords, Omniture, Google Analytics, SEO, SEM Affiliate, PPC
