This position is responsible for leading, developing and executing global procurement and sourcing strategies to leverage the substantial spend in the Corporate Professional Services areas. The Director will work closely with various internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams across Brands, Functions and/or Regions to create and drive category-specific strategies, including leading strategic sourcing activities, building and managing preferred supplier portfolios, shaping and implementing supplier relationship management programs, and ensuring savings realization.

While this position will focus primarily on Global and Corporate North America activities, it will also partner with Regional and local stakeholders based on relevancy.

Categories of indirect procurement responsibility within Corporate Professional Services include, but are not limited to: human resources, consulting services, financial services, legal services, office supplies and Travel & Entertainment.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated professional, with demonstrated successful experience leading negotiations and engaging with senior management. The ideal candidate must also possess previous experience sourcing Corporate Professional Services categories and be well-versed in sourcing strategies for both goods and services.

  • Realizes maximum benefit to the business by leading, creating, and driving category-specific supply management strategies for various sub-categories within Corporate Professional Services (e.g. human resources, consulting services, financial services, legal services, office supplies and Travel & Entertainment). Develops category strategies on a global, regional and/or local level in close alignment with stakeholders, including demand related approaches. Contributes maximum value to the business through better strategizing, structuring and organizing the supply of the assigned Corporate Professional Services categories. Together with stakeholders, determines the global vision for category strategies while accounting for regional or local adaptations.

  • Plans and leads sourcing or cost-savings projects on a global, regional, local and/or multi-site level, engaging stakeholders and the required cross-functional resources. Establishes and maintains the project pipeline, and aligns resources to meet category management timelines.

  • Develops, leads and implements local/regional/global preferred supplier portfolios with corresponding supplier relationship programs, in close alignment with stakeholders

  • Lead contract discussions with legal, implement contracts and capture them in the system. Leads supplier negotiations.

  • Actively drives compliance of the category strategies and sourcing projects with the ELC Procurement Policy, Directive, Guidelines and local Procurement SOPs as well as legal and regulatory requirements

  • Supports regional and/ or local sourcing projects related to the assigned categories by giving guidance, providing methodologies and materials/templates, and sharing any other relevant expertise

  • Continuously monitors external market conditions and understands their potential impacts on category strategies

  • Monitors results, utilizing data reporting capabilities, against established global and regional KPIs

  • Contributes to the overall IP department leadership vision and strategy; measures and tracks internal procurement performance.

  • Plans and conduct suppliers business reviews including KPI and metrics reporting

  • Manages and builds capabilities of staff and other team members; oversees and guides staff activities

  • Participates in special projects as requested

  • Previous work experience in Indirect Procurement categories required, with at least 5 years within the specific highlighted categories of Corporate Professional Services (managing consulting and financial services category is preferred)

  • Proven ability to lead internal and external teams to ensure successful and professional procurement activities. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, analytical, communication, and presentation skills required

  • Experience managing change processes required

  • Ability to manage a variety of internal and external stakeholder expectations and relationships required

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems using data from various sources required

  • Advanced Degree in a relevant area strongly preferred

  • Professional Procurement Certification (e.g. CPSM) preferred

  • Fluency with Microsoft Office suite required; knowledge of SAP Suite Applications preferred
